The story goes that many US pilots looked at the Buccaneer as some British oddity but didn’t really rate it. And then the RAF crews flew this subsonic marvel at about 100’ above the Nevada desert plains at about 520kt and none - not one - of the US aircraft (all much newer, much faster) could stop them.
