Good choice Dan, especially as the one pictured was one of the rare 3300s that had a 13-speed Fuller in it because apparently it was Turk-spec. Robert

Now that we know that Rowly’s ex-Greek Transcon has LHD, 9-speed Fuller and a 14-litre ■■■■■■■ (340), it can safely be added to the fleet on this thread! robert

Has it got a 14-litre ■■■■■■■ and a 9-speed Fuller in it, then? :open_mouth: But I agree it’s a great pic! Robert

I wonder if M&C Jamie and the Eskside Dafs were related ( similar order )I remember Kenny Renny… Cargo international 140 driver… telling me the Daf’s would leave him for dead most of the time…

The Eskside International DAF’s were 2800 double drives from 1975. Frank White Haulage also had a 2800 RHD 6x4 which was on an S plate. It had inverted leaf rear springs and inter axle diff locks, which when engaged on icy roads would not turn left or right with the steering wheel, but keep pushing it straight ahead until you disconnected the diff lock. it was a pig to drive and on rough roads all your gear was thrown about the cab.
My 3300 was an A reg 1983 and was a 6x2 with a bogie lift similar to the Scania and Volvo setup.

Regards jamie.

Hi Jamie! How long did you have the 3300? It really got the looks  Do you got some more pics of it? And what did you replace it whit?

Danne

Hi Danne, I only had the 3300 for about a couple of years, when I was running to Russia. I replaced it with another Daf which was a 95 380 Space cab on air. All of the modifications to the 3300 were on the truck when I bought it from Alan Johnson of Braintree. He had owned it for several years running to the Middle East and Russia. I think the boxes and tanks were made by a local Engineering company. The heavy duty front springs and the paint job were carried out by Steve Grey of Greyhound Commercials Braintree, who maintained the truck for many years. Steve posts on here as M&C Steve and knew every nut and bolt on it. It was comfortable to run at around 80 Kms but was up in the red at over 90. I once towed a Volvo F12 across B.Y. to Poland when we were both fully freighted and grossing nearly 80 tons without a problem. We were also done for speeding, what a joke i was exceeding 30 kms an hour when towing.
Regards Jamie.
