Factory shops

Thetaff2:
Sidoli’s in Welshpool

That brings back memories.

You didn’t need to use the factory shop for Tunnocks at Uddingston as they’d bring you out a bag full of freshly made caramel wafers just for the hell of it. Same for Thorntons at Alfreton. After doing the cream samples from my tanker the lab woman would always come out with a bag of sweets.

DUREX factory…but no good to be taken off site

Thetaff2:
There’s a bakery in Dunfermline that make the best bridies and steak pies I’ve ever tasted.
Parked there overnight once I ate so many I could barely get out of the seat!! :grimacing:

Was it Stephen’s Bakery? I’ve had some fine bridies at East End Park before when they used to do the catering.

Burtons biscuits in Edinburgh

That still at Sighthill? (Twenty-odd years since I’ve been in for a bag of biscuits.)

I remember when I was a kid, the sweet factories used to give sweets to the drivers for free, to stop pilthering.
