Here´s an FB88 from 1971, total weight 52, 5 tons and a load capacity of 31, 5 tons. On this image it´s loading raw material for the paint company Nordsjö in Malmoe. My first big lorry with was an FB88 with a four wheel drawbar from 1971, driving for Autotransit between Malmoe and Norway… and of course it was full winter when I drove my first trip to Norway. :grimacing:

This has probably been in the scrapbook memories thread, a cutting from CM mag.

Hi a picture i got from reuck show . Tony

It’s sad to see all these F88’s going to rot and rust, there’s a guy where I live and he’s got an F88 290 with a crane mounted for a wrecker, he has a fleet of 150 coaches, but the F88 is stood rotting away, he told me I could recon it for him if I wanted, but I’m too old and knackered myself these days let alone rebuild an F88 290, but it’s very tempting, F88’s bring back memories for me, I did many miles most of my life all over Europe East and West, and they were the most reliable lorry I’d had, the first ones we had were really 1970s, untill about 1976/7 when the 290s came out, but the early ones had air wipers which were crap, then they put electric ones on the 290s and all was forgiven.

Nice looking french early 88
