F10 Globetrotter

thats a nice motor a credit to ya mate

is that the one you plan on using?

would be a shame to spoil such a lovely truck

Very good restoration there m8, like said by others a real credit to u  Dolphin packaging used to deliver to homepride up here when them trucks were new, back in the days when Globetrotters were still a bit thin on the ground, remember seeing the LRC ones, they used to pull plain white box trailers. Friend of mine is a big volvo fan & has had a few F12 400 globbies, the cab has a nice shape to it. I snapped a F12 in Middleton Friday at a motorbike racing company, will get them on here.

Nice truck that mate, aways have a good nose round it when ive seen it at Uttoxeter truck show

Hi Tappy

I remember you. Your Scania’s have always looked very smart. I see on the pic my Dad is sat around again.

F148 YFX did turn up at Truckfest Peterborough (2004 I think), it looked like mine did before I had her painted.

Here are a few pics of her at the minute.

F10 being sandblasted

In 1K primer and filling in sandblasting dents in chassis.

In 2K Primer

Top Coat applied

There’s a lot of work been put in there fella. Is that before the other photos or is this another re spray?

This is at the minute. Started stripping and prepping in October 2006. Got her painted last summer but I want her ready for Peterborough in May.

Hi Tappy

I remember you. Your Scania’s have always looked very smart. I see on the pic my Dad is sat around again.

thankyou, lol thats not a very nice thing to say about your oldman!!!

Yes Tappy. The paint had been on since 2002 but rust was starting to show around fittings and some bolts, a lot of them were just metal to metal never seen any paint behind things. Also there were lots of dents in the chassis were rust had eaten away the first time she was shotblasted. So in order to do it properly I stripped it down myself, with help from my brother, dad and a friend.
We painted it all ourselves and can’t wait to get it finished, it’s taken a lot longer than anticipated.
I’ve leant a lot since we first started showing, also I think the bar has been raised so I need to keep up with the competition. There are a lot of restored trucks and the finish on the cab is perfect but the chassis are very poor. A truck is a chassis and cab not just a cab.

fair play to ya, you do a good job, to take such time to strip it down shows you do it with passion!!! :sunglasses: i painted my chassis on this x reg old girl as it was no longer scania grey it was rusty brown  couldnt show her at brans in nov like that so she got a drop of blue  pictures are in my facebook profile if you get a min  :sunglasses:

Whats that colour looks like ford signel red old mk1 ■■■■■■ colour uncle used to have his chassis that colour i done the chassis on my f86 that coulour to when i restored that

Fantastic looking machine, a real credit to you mate. When i worked at a mushroom farm back in '95-6 Dolphin used to deliver our 6lb trays, so may well have come across the old gal in her previous life.

The colours are masons colours ‘Mason Light Red’ and ‘Mason Light Cream’

Hi, well done on your restoration F 149 YFX is a credit to you and your helpers,
here’s a pic of her big sister I ran this on European work in the late eighties, Roy Talman (Winkey) was the regular driver.
Regards MaggieD

Spot on.

Thats a great pic of F147 YFX. Have you got any more please?

The first time we took her to Peterborough in 2002 some lorry spotter thought F146 YFX was in Cornwall in a quarry.
