And it’s odd to think that ^^^^ that unit ended up with RHD and a B-series day cab, still in Richard Read colours! Robert
Great pictures as ever , that Cauvas Reg plate is definitely 8264, for what my contribution is worth

Yes! And it’s certainly an interesting member of the NGC family. robert

Is that a split 'screen?

No, I don’t think so. The bottom of the split would arrive directly in the centre of the filler cap. Also, other pics show it with a single screen. I reckon it’s a crafty reflection! Robert
Now thats a gooood pic! Like it!

Finally found the article which started this Topic off,
Great period shot 0
Yes, TRUCK magazine definitely came up with a goody there! I’d love to get hold of the original photograph or a high definition copy - it’s one of my favourite NGC pics . Robert
A new Groenenboom pic.
A couple of old adverts.
Small bit about Jack Cooke.
A new lead. P.Brame of Wintzenheim near Colmar apparently operated a 4x2 NGC.
Have been informed by a French contact who unfortunately never had any photos of it.

Strewth! You’ve been busy!
You’re right: the Groenenboom pic is a new one - thanks!
Some interesting ads there too.
And that piece about Jack Cooke, who designed the NGC, fills in a bit more detail than I knew about him - thanks!
That looks like very good news about the P. Brame NGC in France. We’ll have to see if we can just get a bit more evidence to back up the claim. It’s not that I doubt our contributors, it’s just that we’ve had so many claims of NGC ownership that have turned out to be MGCs or B-series that I have to be a bit cautious. Anyway, I’ll pencil this new find into the register and hopefully ‘ink it in’ later, as usual.
Thanks for posting all this Dean.
Cheers, Robert
PS. I’ve received info ‘behind the scenes’ that indicate that this new discovery (the Brame P unit) can be taken pretty seriously. Consequently, I have entered it as No. 74 on the register for now.
They are a heavy haulage outfit. Here’s a unit from about the time they would have had an NGC. Robert

Another bit about Jack Cooke.
That last bit refers to the B-series, I think, as the piece is dated Sept '74 and refers to a range of chassis. Robert
I do feel uncomfortable about arbitrarily including some NGCs on the register with anecdotal evidence and not others; so I have devised a new sub-table to add to the register, as follows:
This should both keep all parties happy and ensure that no NGC slips through the net! Robert

Cant remember if i put these on before just going through computer and found some i found
ages ago.
Keep 'em coming, no matter what; I say! Robert
Hiya Robert,
Stumbled upon this pic, now you’ve might seen it before, but in case you haven’t, that unit on the left…what do you reckon?
Cheers, Patrick

Well spotted! That one could easily be missed at a glance. Actually, DEANB posted it on here a few weeks ago. It’s the Pacific with an 7/8MW cab that started with Loste and migrated to Sitca (both of Lille). Cheers for that Patrick. Robert
I was having another look at the picture of this insipient model this afternoon. It appears to be an adaptation of a 1:50 scale Crusader (witness the cut-in panels lower down the back end of the cab), and the front end is very well crafted indeed. I’ve always thought that the 7MW protruding front grille would give modellers a headache! However, whoever is making this model has managed to capture the slightly bowed grille sides and top, combined with the subtley bevelled sides and top. And the visor is impressive. I honestly think this one’s going to be a cracker! I only hope I get the opportunity to see it at Gaydon or somewhere. Robert
‘Jona’ has posted some wonderful pics on the Trans Arabia thread this morning. Here are the ‘new’ NGC ones. They feature TA 126, which was previously owned by Ben Schaap in Holland on hazardous goods work. I have its original number plate! Many thanks to Jona for posting them! Robert
