Now THAT’s a curious beast. Not only has it been extended upwards, but backwards too: a sort of E-series Longline! Robert
On second thoughts re ^^^^^; I think a ‘window’ has been cut out of the rear vertical fairing - you can even see the container through it! If you look at the pictures below, it is clear that a few of these were made, probably by the same outfit. Robert

Dan/Robert,
That cab looks very similar to one that was used by ERF as a demo, it was on front cover of Truck magazine '84 or '85 painted in purple/white? with the words “va-voom” up the side of the cab,it looked like a kids colouring competition!, I have chucked all my old copies away but I think it may have been a push by ERF for more custom in France?

I remember that cover, Pete! However, it was unlikely to be connected to any push for Europe because the C-series fell into that period when ERF pulled right out of the European market (with the LHD B-series) and didn’t enter it again until after the borders came down in the early '90s (with its LHD E-series). LHD C-series exports were to the Middle East. . Cheers, Robert

Robert,
I’m glad somebody does because everyone I’ve mentioned it to look’s at me like I’ve gone soft! I cannot remember what the livery was for, I’ve searched for it but come up with nothing, Dean B may have it in his collection?

The ‘Va Voom’ was the competition winner and was displayed (IIRC) at that years motor show.

NOW I remember it clearly! It wasn’t a high cab C-series, but a regular sleeper cab I think. The reason I remember it is that I actually entered the competition and submitted my own flash livery idea . It must have been a rainy bank holiday then . Robert
Had they invented Photoshop in those days, Robert? Or was it down to those jumbo-sized packs of felt tipped pens?!

Deffo jumbo felt-tips, ROF! This would have been just after the C-series came out. Robert
Hiya Robert,
I’ve posted these before on another thread, but they might be more at “home” in this one I reckon
I wonder if this one’s still part of the Turners fleet■■?
Cheers, Patrick
Nice shunter! It’s an E-series though!! Never mind, good pics. I think the last shunter I ever drove was an E-series E10:275 with 9-speed Fuller. Cheers, Robert

That explains it. You would have been doodling in the back of your maths exercise book while us “older” lads were dreaming of driving something as modern as a C-series!
