Right then, it is all TC1 work for FTTM next week… He can go fill the wreckers up at the roadside… Oh no, it is mild next week so he can go into the boonies…
That’ll teach him…
Love to oblige chaps, but I"m only allowed out on Thursdays when I do my longhaul to Esterhazy and Spy Hill, right in the middle of [zb] land.
you want to find him a load of scrap metal to take to Ipsco where he doesnt arrive unitl about 9:30 am then has to sit in line until 2pm to unload, then fill up with, bar to bring back they would have him loaded by about 5:30 and thats if both unload cranes are running.
BTD, do you really want to become a disatcher, one of the most hated people on this and other forums, we victimise drivers, we make them sit around for hours unpaid. We ruin families lives that come over from Europe, we make them bankrupt, then laugh as they scramble for their last pennies home. We make them work 24/7 but ensure they only get paid 10/5, you will be called a company lacky etc… Believe me BTD you lose many an admirer on these forums if you do become a dispatcher… but who really gives a F@#k what peeps on here think of you

As a dispatcher, he will need to recruit some new blood to replace him. Can I nominate Crappyarse from Surrey
Sorry, Malc. Missed the earlier post… My boy is almost 11 now so it is a tough age, but I think he is strong enough to walk onwards, and I will hold his hand and see him as right as I can. I have to, and now I have a chance to help more than ever.
Gremmie, yes I do want to be a dispatcher, and for all the reasons you listed…
Can you just imagine me being a dispatcher for our resident gritter driver?
FTTM, you will have to go where I send you if you want the miles…
You’ll be alright Bob, KSW wont wanna lose you & I’m sure given your circumstances they’ll oblige with desk driving when the time comes.
I’ve been having office thoughts recently & have put it to the folks I sub for as it happens.
Its awful sad whats happened to you Chap but your one of lifes survivers & I’m sure you’ll do right by the your young lad and you’ll get on with whatever role you wish for in road transport. I’m sure when He goes off to college/uni or whatever He does your time will come for more OTR if thats what you want, but maybe you’ll be happy tarping your desk by then.

See he admits it Actually I had a decent dispatcher at BFS we had a few laughs. It was the idiot in charge Tom van Dumb that was the jackass of all trades. Sometimes you have to sit : most of the time it is not the dispatchers fault for me the longest was due to the village idiot in charge of the shop and the sales people getting things screwed up. Like who tells the dispatcher to send 2 trucks for loads with step decks, to pick up 2 halfs of a house as in house trailer type house to move from east of Montreal to Winnipeg.

Definately chasing the miles Rob.Had a cracking day today and totalled 128km in 10 hours. How will I survive
Gremmie, I was delighted you came today, and the theological discussion with the Pastor was most entertaining… We did Janey proud I think.
John, thanks. We will get going now. They must think something of me at KSW… 2 dispatchers, the Co Sec and the boss came along today… That was awesome as well.
in my honest opinion i think bob will make a great dispatcher having done the routes he will be able to advise the guys the best routes places to stop when to avoid certain parts of towns etc
i wish you all the best with it mate you can always do somelong haul in the hols and take junior along good luck with it i hope it all works out well for you
At the last place i had a supervisor that was a former driver, it was both a blessing and a curse.
I could tell him stuff and he knew what i was saying but when i was BS’ing him he knew that too
