People’s political spectra are different:
I’m far left on Financial matters, for example
Socially Liberal,
Right wing only on “Law and Order”, in particular “Enforcement”.
If Musk is “Far Right on FInancial Matters” - does that mean he spends his money to directly detriment others politically, which is more like what the DNC or Soros do?
Even Nationalist “Socialist” Hitler ended up also being called “Far Right” rather than "Far LEFT on that basis eh?
Makes me wonder if the line between Left and Right has become somewhat blurred overall by this point?
How do YOU define Left and Right, the main tenets of each?
What MUST a Right leaning person believe to be called “Of the Right” let alone define themselves that way?
Same question for “Left” of course…
To me, a Left person believes in “Auturism” on a subject rather than “Bonitas”. You are expected to make everyone else happy, before yourself.
I consider myself Far Left on finance because I believe strongly that no person should be made poorer by the actions of someone else selfishly making themselves richer at the expense of many to serve a few, namely themselves…
I was brought up to believe that you can get anywhere financially with Graft, and perseverance.
Not much good though, if some Robber Baron strips you of what you’ve built up for yourself along the way though, huh?
“Put something back” would be my message to the monied, “stop taking the ■■■■ out of those poorer than you” on top of that.
People don’t need “benefits” when it should be the job of a responsible employer to pay such a decent wage that that employee is a loyal and happy one.
Perhaps a return to “General Patronage” would help bring that about? Not “Cronyism” where only the immediate friends and family of the “Employer” in question get the big bucks, and everyone else is on bloody minimum wage!
The Right-leaning person believes in a happy self can spread that happiness out among those around them…
“If I stay in business, YOU stay employed. If a Higher taxing government gets in - I’ll be moving elsewhere, and you can follow or stay as you can afford to do.” Guess what? - Most people cannot afford to commute 50miles extra to work these days, and “moving house for a new job” - has surely become a thing of the past already by this point?
Overall though, a Right leaning employer is better to work for than a Left leaning one. A Right leaning authority figure is better than a left leaning one, but a Left leaning Priest better than a right-leaning one, and a left-leaning benefits office worker - also better or at least more sympathetic. Horses for courses? - Let’s see how these new Labour councillors do between now and the next election, which can be no later than December next year, don’t forget.
It would make perfect sense in this way for more Left-leaning people to get their message across in Dole Queues and Churches of course, IF this were true - but whilst I’d expect a dole queue to feature an equal measure of BOTH sides of political leaning - I wouldn’t expect to see the average lefty dead in a Church, if that’s not a pun-too-far…
Isn’t it the case that “Christians” for example, are considered “Right Wing” these days?
Are “Catholics” or rather “Fallen/Lapsed” Catholics - considered “Liberals” or even Libertines?
Are Muslims or at least Shia Muslims considered to be the largest Left voting block, especially in inner cities?
I reckon we’re going to have all these “dividing lines” - redrawn considerably over the remainder of this decade…
