Ah [zb] I missed it! When’s harry repeated? Or anyone know a site other than itv that plays it, only got iPhone for internet. It ain’t on YouTube.

Wheel Nut:
Malcolm Wilson runs Fords M-Sport Rally Team, his son Matthew drives for Stobart Rally, they tend to use the same pot for ■■■■■■■ in around ■■■■■■■ as my mate Simon who competes in the Abu Dhabi series all knock about together. Paul (chicken) Bird Motorsport also had links with Stobart…

Cheers for that. Only been to goods-in where the blue fleet’s usually parked up. Not into motorsport myself, so didn’t realise more than one team ran out of the same place.

Cheers Rob, that link just made our Sunday morning.

They should have let Harry Hill do the full series, it would have been great as an “official” comedy!

j-mac

That clips great especially when fat heather jumps up into the trailer, starts scoffing cakes and falls over

Yes, Harry got as excited as we are supposed to get when we hear that the driver of an articulated lorry has to make a delivery which is…dramatic pause… over 100 miles away!!!

Still can’t work out what those cream cakes were doing inside a stepframe furniture trailer

Takes the zb out of evrything that’s so zb boring/wrong about the 21’st century British ‘road transport industry’.If they were running to the Middle East they’d probably need help from NASA mission control instead of a yard with a shed and a telex machine.

Some say that VOSA were looking into charges forr an insecure load but Heather ate all the evidence.

Yea, when you watch “Destination Doha”, the commentary is quiet, intelligent and informative. This series is I suppose what contemporary TV is all about but Harry Hill summed it up perfectly with his abject fear and panic at the thought that some terrible disaster was about to happen, such as a load might need to be re-booked.

All in all though I’m enjoying it far more than I thought I would.

Destination Doha was filmed in a time of only 3 TV channels, so people would sit down and watch it, but today everything has to be a drama and reality TV style to play to the lowest common dominator, to get the maximum audience possible and therefore maxium advertising revenue. I think the only place a modern Destination Doha would be shown would be BBC 4.

I’ve got to say the I am also enjoying the program, but only because of the comedy value.

Destination Doha was filmed in the days when the Sweeney was on the tele showing it like it was.But I could just imagine the average Stobart Driver these days being thrown the keys to that wagon and drag working for Astran and being told to get on with it.That was the reason why I started out in the industry but I was born 10 years too zb late :frowning: .But every cloud has a silver lining because I was born 25 years too early to be a brainwashed modern day ‘driver’ running my computerised electric heap at 53 mph on 100 mile ‘runs’ delivering cream cakes to the supermarkets.

watched Harry Hill last night he put the whole series into perspective.
ps I dont even like HH usually.

It is said that there is no such thing as bad publicity but Harry Hill has dealt the Stobart epic a dastardly blow expect come the end of the series our national press will probably have joined in,shame but if you put your head above the parapet it’ll be shot off.
