I drove a bit for Peter at Earl Transport, Clayton Le Moors back in the early noughties.

What about Hanson,s from Gt Harwood, Silver and Red Maggie Deutz’s and the other family member ‘I’ Hanson with the Gold and White Maggies.

They used to pull out of ICI salt works Winsford and every one on tippers and grain etc. used to go to them for an out bound load to anywhere in the country!

Nice pics barry/gloves,Hanson,s used to have a yard at bottom end of Queen st ,gt harwood,but I think it,s now part of Tesco,they seem to have vanished? :open_mouth: :unamused:

I seem to remember that there was a company called ‘I’ Hanson who I seem to remember were cattle feed and corn millers from the Gt. Harwood area and they also ran Maggie Deutz’s but cannot remember their colours!

Probably another of my late fathers paint jobs. :slight_smile: Next time you see Mr Riding moo moo ask him if he remembers Jack Preston from Motor Bodies of Blackburn I think he did some work for them.

Another long gone

May have posted this picture before but will put it on this thread for you. One of Hansons maggies taken at the New York Dragway near Elvington Yorkshire probably around 1980. There was a drag race meeting and trucks were invited to run up and down dragway. I think the Bandag bullet truck with the jet engine on the back was also there.

IIRC we did a bit of work with Wilfred Holden, just can’t recall the name of the manager we dealt with they hauled traffic out of Star Paper Mill at Feniscowles IIRC ! Cheers Bewick.
