Good to hear Ian is still alive and kicking, here’s a pic of an F89 he had refurbished with a new cab etc. and I think he then sent it to work in Bosnia.
It’s still going strong today, this was taken in Norway a couple of years ago, transporting a vintage boat.
Regards MaggieD

It’s good to see that Ian’s life was not all ‘‘hard work’’.Here is our hero with a famous UK lady, with whom he did not do any truck driving!!They were an item for about 5 years.
The bloke just gets more impressive Muhandis - Pat Wynn eh?! Would make another good chapter for his book

I bumped into her(excuse) pun, when she was staying with Ian in Majorca, some years ago.Still a fit woman!!.He took her to The Cheltenham Gold Cup last year. Her real name is Sally Forino, and she now lives near Cheltenham. As mentioned by others in this thread,he went through ‘‘The Troubles’’ both in Ulster and with his ex wife. However he preferred to get even!! This lady was-apparently-much in love with Ian,who was younger than her,and introduced him to a number of her female friends!
Ian is in Ulster this weekend for a special dinner and Remembrance Sunday, where he will remember some of his friends killed ‘‘on duty’’
Have been searching records at Kew Records Office for a long lost relative and his WW1 Citation for Bravery.I came across this document(converted from .pdf to .jpg) on an award to Ian in 1974,for Gallantry. It can be found here, but you may need to blow it up(excuse pun) to see it correctly. It was only in 2005 when the record was ‘released’ The Kew ref is WO/393/187.I do know that Ian had 2 Gallantry awards but he never spoke about the matter. In the Dhofar War,he was ‘on loan’ to the local military commanded by British Senior Officers. The guy who signed this was a UK Special forces CO.Until recently the Dhofar war has been kept secret. Now you can Google ‘‘Battle of Mirbat’’ etc to get a flavour of what went on.Now I know why Ian spoke arabic!!!

Hopefully SirMartinFrobisher might now calm down and stop his remarks about Ian’s ‘exaggerations?’ (whatever they might have been) .I was told by one of Ian’s staff, who knew him when he was fighting in various places, that he was an 'impressive 'soldier.
Ian has been stalking a UK haulage company lately,so expect developments!
