From what I read of the documentation online on the DVLA site, if you are on certain medication, or have certain sections of depression what cross the line with the DVLA, then your license could be suspended. One of those is if you are suicidal.
I found other ways to deal with my issues, especially after the local mental health services misdiagnosed it. It probably didn’t help that I was just getting over for a panic attack at the time of my interview, and was subsequently very low. But there are ways and means of getting over it.
