Well according to the DCPC trainer the online licence check that is currently in BETA will only be free until Jan next year when they stop issuing the paper counterpart , and that they will then charge a fee to access your licence details online,

Have just checked me paper bit. The only date on it is the expiry date of provisional, i.e. 70th birthday. So renew the plastic bit and keep the paper bit
once you passed your car test, everyone’s entitlement lasts till they’re 70 years old! If you pass class one before forty five, that will last till you’re forty five then medicals every five years till you’re ■■?
