From the job bank posted just as they appear here. You would wonder with this ad why they need so many recruiters, hell drivers should be breaking down the doors. Oh sorry that would be to escape from BFS not go to work for them.

OK, so don’t be cryptic, explain what you mean…

See, some of us have actually been there… Have you?

I checked all of his 11 posts nothing very interesting, he figures though you should stay in the center of your lane. Dont know keeping to the right does help drivers behind you see whats coming without having to cross the line to check. But hey we may not be as professional as he is.

Someone of your standing should be able to work it out!
You may have been there and done it but don’t get on your high horse about it!!
I have done my share of winter roads and meaning above the 62nd paraellel.

You are a busy little bee!!

I am 4 months into a 9 month sentence I have nothing but time cant fit behind the steering wheel for now.

Not on any high horse… But when someone says they want to go and do the roads when their sum experience is 2 weeks of wet snow in the UK, it is not really the best move. Anyone would see that.

As for the rest of your notions, well I don’t much care. I have succeeded in surviving and doing OK by driving to my standards.

So how did you and the other Brits learn then Bob, coz you nor the others had done any thing remotley like the Ice Roads in Europe ■■? :astonished:

It many not be the best move but thats for him to find out for himself. If the man wants to try and its a dream of his to do then let him try, whats the harm in that and if the powers that be say no then he will just have to live with it.

Its not only supertruckers that can go and do it, mere mortals can aswell. I bet before you moved to Canada people said you’d fall on your arse but did you listen? no. Because your out here proving it can be done, so give the man a break. People should stop slagging people off who want to come out here and picking holes in them.

People don’t need to go on about caging brakes and crossing streams ( creeks ) with logs they chop down with their chainsaw. I don’t carry a chainsaw and never have, i do have a Junior hacksaw however.

I had very little experience my first time on ice, it I also knew there was another truck a couple miles in front of me and more behind. That was hauling drilling rigs a bit different. But that gave me the experience to be able to run north. Anyone looking to see what Ice roads are all about that is what I would suggest see about doing some rig moves.

I’ve never once checked the slack adjusters on any truck or trailer, I am not getting plastered in crap getting underneath, I am not a mechanic and it’s not my job despite what DOT say.
I will visualy look to see if any hoses are touching and cable tie them if needed. DOT have checked me in the past and if they found brakes out of adjustment they have given me the oppertunity to rectify it, so I call the company and then it’s their problem. It has only happened once and I got no ticket for it.
My company keep well up on inspections to trailers so the chance of the brakes being out of adjustment is rare.
I do a regular run most of the time and all the DOT cops on my route know me and recognise my truck, I normally just get a wave through and sometimes even a salute from some of the regular cops. They know we are on elogs and don’t expect to find things wrong with the equipment.
One of our O/O’s was stopped near here by DOT whilst driving a borrowed Western Star, when DOT saw the company name they actually told him if he had been in a normal red tractor he woild not have been pulled in because they assume it is me
