Probably got some work through and agency for the next couple of weeks for a concrete drilling firm. This will be some times driving a class 2 rigid, and some times a van less than 3.5t.
What do I need to do to be legal with regard to driving?
Not sure if I’ll be doing some of each on the same day or a different one each day, just wondered how I kept the records?
Driving the van counts as other work for the purposes of EU rules so if there are any days you drive both then you need to put that down as a manual entry on the back of your chart (or entered into the head unit if it’s digi tach).
You also need to ensure you have a full record of all work done in any week you drive the vehicle that comes under tacho rules. The easiest way round this is to fill in a analogue tacho chart for the days you work that you don’t drive the class2 vehicle. I think the minimum you need to do is put your name and date on it and mark your shift start and finish times.
