Drivers always suffer!

Or give it the Classic " No probs mate, give us a shout when ya ready in getting my head down" That long wait soon turns into a quick 10 mins in and out :grimacing:

Happened to me yesterday. Arrived at 2 and was told “Itll be at least 4 or 5 oclock till we get you unloaded” to which I replied “No bother. I need to take 45 anyway. No rush”
Fast forward 18 minutes to a chap on the door. “Pull forward a bit so we can open the doors driver. We’ll tip you just now”

That is also why I don’t get stressed out about waiting somewhere, and can never understand why those on hourly pay do so. :bulb:

I’m the same, nothing we do will make it go faster and I’m getting paid either way.

The bosses do though, watching the pounds dripping away.

Nah, just scribbling demurrage on the job sheet.

Everyone has the same problem…I lose money because HMRC can’t make money out of big corps and chase for tax on night out money and we gross it up now; then there’s all the customers that don’t understand I don’t control weather, ferry schedules or the M25; then there’s the drivers with a smashed wing mirror, misplaced PoDs., and an over run of half an hour on the digi when it’s double manned FFS.

It’s life, go with the flow.

Maybe because they would rather get home at a decent time?

9/10 the ones getting stressed out will be day men. The one thing I kind of envy trampers for, not having to worry about finish time.

Whilst I agree with the consensus that everything has the chance of going mammories upon our game, and you should seek alternative employment if that’s not suitable, I can justify your feelings as the planner must be a very incompetent soul, to not only first send you with the wrong trailer, but secondly make you come back and swap, rather than sending the next available driver from base to get to the customer quicker

I’ve given up trying to understand how offices work. I just do my run and let them figure out what went wrong.
