If I choose to invest my time and IT skills in assisting someone thats an issue for me. The OP is trying to produce something that others may choose to purchase that’s an issue for them.

With your logic, we’d all be driving the same make of car, the same make of phone, the same TV, wearing the same clothes etc etc…Wait, someone already builds cars, we won’t bother then…!! 
There is room for more than just one make/type/operating system of the same idea…competition is the disciplinarian of the market economy!
Apple/Samsung/HTC etc etc already have several decent phones they’ve made, but see fit to keep launching new versions. Despite there being plenty of others on the market…
