Driver Shortage

Hi all, what i don’t understand is the DVLA keep saying they are behind due to covid restriction’s in the office social distancing and all that they forget to mention they keep going on strike as well. :sunglasses:

No wonder there’s a driver shortage if these wagons are still on offer!

That was a clerical error should have been on Oily’s thread, old age thing, Buzzer.

I suffer from the same malady, Buzzer! Talking of which: this might appeal to you.

One thing that has been pointed out to me is although you might have a covering letter from DVLA, insurance companies may see it that if you have an accident, just because they have your application it is not a guarantee that you will get your full licence back so they may use it as an excuse to get out of paying on an at fault situation.

Asda Warrington RDC today, 2&1/2 hours after booking, sorry driver we are busy and running behind, if you were five minutes late they tell you to naff off this is one reason drivers dont like UK work and to boot there is nothing on the other three bays unless they are invisible, Buzzer

I remember Asda drivers from Wakefield coming into Maltby to load, there were two,one at 0300 and another at 0330 IIRC.This is how it went.
1.Park in yard and head down.
2.Wake driver up and tell him which bay.
3.Driver on bay and head down.
4.Wake driver up and tell him to park up.
5.Driver parks in yard and head down.
6.Transport office shout for Asda driver as paperwork ready.
5.Wake driver up who goes for paperwork.
6.Driver back to wagon, looks at watch and if a bit early gets head down.
7.Shunter now rayt ■■■■■■ off and tells driver to GTF out of yard as not much room.

This is what should be highlighted in the press , instead of supermarkets bleating they should get their act together, Farage on GB News would have a field day with this , Sky would probably ignore it , i once sat at Morrisons for 4 1/2 hours and i was 10 minutes early for my booking. The place was a shambles , i waited 2 hours for my paperwork after getting tipped. Supermarkets are bullies driving prices down from suppliers and using hauliers as portable storage. I was once talking to a rental company boss who told me ASDA were atrocious , they wouldn`t pay for damage because they bought so many vehicles from them , unbelievable
