DQC do those with D1 (101) get PCV?

ROG:
periodic DCPC hours cannot be uploaded for PCV unless the driver has passed a PCV test … OR HAVE I GOT THAT WRONG?

Dunno about periodic, but you can pass intital CPC without having passed a test for that class of vehicle. You’d think it’d be safe to assume the same for periodic, but, perhaps not.

Have you tried calling them and asking, see what the horses mouth has to say ?

ovy:
Hi all I have a pre 1997 licence and it still has 101 on d1 and only c1 c c+e on my dcpc ? If that helps

Yeah, mine is the same as ovy’s.

dcpc hours cannot be uploaded for PCV on a D1 101 so how do they expect that to happen■■?

Check the DVSA website it says D1 (101) counts for ‘Acquired rights’. Contact the DVSA and they do some computer stuff and add the flag for vocational. It isn’t an automatic thing. Any uploads already made will then become valid. Any uploads after that will be valid.

Check this link Driver CPC training for qualified drivers: When to take training - GOV.UK D1 (101) is listed

I do know (kind of) someone who did this and a new DQC arrived with all ‘C’ and all ‘D’ on the back. He can then go and take his D without needing the initial CPC

I knew they could do that when a driver passed full D1 or D but not without doing so

Update = the D1 101 can be added but must be requested by email so I did get that wrong  - DVSA DCPC hotline said this is a fairly recent thing

So I reckon that means a DCPC trainer gave the right information :open_mouth:

I still have the 101 code next to my D1 even though I have passed my D.
I also got my DQC card before I passed my C and it has get all the category’s on the card(C1,C,D1,D,C1E,CE,D1E and DE).
I did pass my car test before 1997, so I had acquired rights to C1 and D1.
I also work with people that have acquired rights to C1 and they have there DQC.

When I went for my D and C I had to sit the theory/hazard perception test’s for both.

Wasn’t while you were delivering a training course so it doesn’t count. :stuck_out_tongue:

I phoned them today about this today and the woman I spoke to didn’t sound too sure at all but said my D1 (101) or any D categories couldn’t be added until the full D practical had been passed. Sounds like a lack of staff training really. Do you have an DVSA email address to make the request Rog?
