Anglian windows pay similar money & despite always needing drivers, they never seem to run out of willing victims

Well thats a revelation to me, that allways used to be a job to have round the city, but like so many others its gone down the pan from what your sayi

They have as I understand it from their drivers two pay scales now. The one that the original drivers are on & as of last year that had seen no increase for a few years & the salary.
The salary based on 60 hour plus & is very low, even for 40 hours.
The older drivers get extra for unsocial hours, Saturdays & Sundays, the new drivers have to work all the hours they are given for the same rate & with no extra for nights or weekends, so guess who gets all the crap hours ?.
I have done several days there, both shunting & delivering for them & so have spoken to several of their drivers. From conversations held, general consensus is that they treat drivers like zb, have been told by management that drivers are “three a penny”, I think the term was & I have also been told that vehicle damage is high as a result.
It’s not the company it was a few years back. It still has lots of decent guy’s there, but thats slowly changing.

:smiley: Well BULLY just got himself a new job…WOO HOO!!! 2 runs a week delivering coal to Michigan, only away from home 2 nights a week $950 after tax plus benifets and weekends off OMG I’m so happy…nearly double what I was earning working 6 days a week doing local. No lumpers to deal with…no waiting at RDC’s…no booking in times etc. I think I’ve died and gone to heaven. I’ll actually see more of my wife and family than running local ■■?
