Does that old trick still work

Alan…:
I never stp at a red light at night… my brother might be coming the other way.

Quite a few sets now are set to change to red both ways when no vehicles are present, mainly on narrow bridges etc. When a vehicle approaches from either direction the lights change immediately then go straight back to red.

So what happens if two cars approach from opposite sides at exactly the same time■■? Oh, I know - they both stay on red until a second one comes on one side!

As I’ve said before, we should adopt the continental approach and leave them on flashing amber at night. OR TURN THE FEKKERS OFF :imp:

At temporary lights, day or night i usually jump them if its reasonably safe to do so. I heard a myth a very long time ago that jumping temporary lights, will not lead to a conviction, whereas fixed lights will…dont know if thats true or not.

A few months ago I was heading to the Industrial estate in Newbury to park up for the night, I had minutes of spread left and the lights went through 3 changes without letting me go, so i waited until it was clear and went through on a red light. What are you suppposed to do? To me the options were to take out my card there and then on the junction, or get to where i was going, lucky there were no cameras.
