Do you use POA

Where I don’t get paid for POA because ‘it doesn’t count towards working time so therefore it’s not work’ I don’t use it. When I work for good people I do

If im waiting anyware long enough its on break, dont record poa.

doesnt the poa mode act the same way as the break mode on the tacho■■? doesnt it clear the amount of driving you have done in the same way the break mode does when selected after say 45 mins■■?

From others posts I have read - yes it does and I have not yet had an explanation as to why the software people set it up like that …

waste of time then init really if say you have driven 3 hours and put it on poa at a rdc for an hour but you want to drive out youre 4.30 hrs and it clears youre drive time :unamused: :unamused:

it as to Rog because of doubleman

if there is two driver and one drive for 4.5 hours and then swaps over the driver that is in the passenger seat now is on POA and if it did not reset the drive time he would not be able to drive when the other driver drives for 4.5 hours, becouse as soon as he put his card in it would say 4.5 hour drive done would it not

if your on your own the POA does not could as break the 3 hours drive you did it still there, you only have 1.5 hours driver left even though it reset you drive time, does not mean you can drive for 4.5 hours.

Not quite DEL - VOSA say THEY will regard the first 45 mins of POA as break in MM situations

I think you’ve misunderstood what Dels is saying, “if you’re on your own POA does not count as break so you only have 1.5 hours driving time left even though the driving time has reset on the tachograph” is the way I’m reading it anyway

i know that im just saying it clears youre driving time so if you dont write down what you have done you could get into a mess. also say ive done 2.30 drive 15 break 1 hour drive 1 hour poa 30 mins other work, that means i can do another 1 hour drive and then 30 mins break clear the 4.30 drive and go again, but the 1 hour poa has cleared the 3.30 drive so i would have to take a 45 not a 30 to be able to do a 4.30 drive after the 1 hour. im i right :unamused:

Perhaps I have misunderstood …

If you want to do red circle shifts you need to hammer in the POA! We where not told to use it, but it was insinuated it had to be used or you’d get stood down refused red circles if your average was too high. Most of the guys dont do extra shifts so they don’t use it at all, it just stays on other work.

Cant use break in its place as they dont like it and any break over 90minutes gets flagged and they start to look closely at your trip sheets and its best they dont :grimacing:

Id say every week i use about 300-400 minutes of POA and my weekly average is hovering around 47 hours at the moment, a few guys at the depot are over 48hrs, its possible they could get stood down if they cant lower that!
