back in the 80’s used to deliver to the RAF base at brize norten on leaving the camp at the gates were 2 waffs who asked if i was going to swansea ?
I told um i was indeed going to swansea (i lied) but as it is only 50 miles out of my way i took um got a couple of hours overtime out of it
we carried spair tyres in those days so i let the spare down and got my hands and face all dirty just before i pulled into yard no mobile phones in those days
and yes would and still pick up the odd hitch hiker
1 time i was drivin a splitter van 12 seats/& space @ the back for backline,dropped boys off in london, then headed for manchester to drop the van off, i picked up 10 different solo hitchikers, & dropped 'em @ services all along the m6, it was a great laugh & they all behaved !!
