One of the office bods where I worked asked me when my National CPC expired, my reply was when I do.

I can’t wait to go driving !jonnytruckfest:
The job is easy enough if you know what your doing but the amount of back stabbing and ■■■■■■■■ that goes on it just makes a good job [zb].Lol, it doesn’t get any better once you get on the road
Until you’ve worked on the other side, you would know there’s a lot less of it as a driver.
Cheers

I’ve had both types, the ex driver and the non driver. Personally I prefer the non driver TM cos you can swing the lead a bit more, as opposed to the ex driver who knows full well what your doing or not doing
lol
good point however i have found most of the lads who end up behind the desk just accept the delays that happend daily far easier than the office bod who just doesnt seem to understand that we are there to make money for as little effort as we can get away with lol
They need to add extra modules for cpc specifically for office staff, tm, rtm. since most transport departments are run on a shoe string, things are easily overlooked people, jobs, proceedures especially when people are under pressure and in need of a professional approach. Not only that, those persons of a small businesses that dont really have any connection to the O licence holder, dont really have a full understand there legal obligations.
So to bring in extra modules in that are targeted at office staff which make companies more uniform to our needs as drivers can only be good

I was a full time driver, did my team leader bit in the office, went on to do my Trainer courses, then completed my National and International CPC. I am a transport manager now, I still go on the road on average 30-40 days a year and I believe that it has helped me doing the job to be able to understand the job.
It still doesn’t mean that I have to make hard decisions or give people jobs they don’t want to do, it just means that they “may” understand that I know its a rotten thing to do, as I have had to do it myself in the past.
TM is the worst position to be in, drivers hate you and people above moan because you have spent too much money, a thankless job that most drivers don’t realise…
Before anyone asks, no I don’t want to go back on the road full time I like driving a desk nowadays
