Yes Dave, you ARE getting old lad! There was a couple of old TK’s parked up on the bank when I started in 1975 but it was entirely Foden eight leggers on the road by then, and one AEC Marshall tanker on internal work.

CAT ENGINED…some kind of gas conversion(disconnected now) at warwick services southbound …on route to southampton docks.

thats a ex west transport (ilkeston) motor, they had loads of them up till about a year ago,the gas conversions had been disconnected for a long time due to the cat engines kept cracking the cyln heads.they were replaced with axors and i dont think the drivers where overly impressed with them.the fodens where sold on by a dealer in coalville, they still had a lot for sale when i last visited about 4 months ago.

they also ran lots of ERF with gas conversion
off top my head they ran
erf ec12 ecx ect nd so on so on
foden alpha
renault prems

im not 100% sure but think T HARDSTAFF did the converting

my dad worked for them at 1 point

Foden flat.jpgHi,
Enjoyed going through this thread but was surprised that there aren’t any from my old firm Rugby Cement who were a big user of Fodens.
So to put the matter right here’s a few of the different marks that Rugby ran over the years.

Cheers Bassman
