0I Have been to Rush Green a few times, Its a resting place for many vehicles, This S 20 Foden I Owned came from there, It was new to William Hampton in 1962 I Bought it in 1972 from a cousin of mine who in fact had several motors from there, I sold it and replaced it with another Foden, The S 20 was still going in the late 70s, I wish that I had kept it and used it for present days wagon shows, Regards Larry.
Now howay Larry please tell us how you dropped that spare wheel off its fastenings, never mind about putting the “flat” back up there !! and don’t say “with difficulty” I always thought that if there was a hard way or easy way Fodens would go for the hard way every time eh! Cheers Dennis.
daed easy dennis , short rope round the wheel , over a cross member on the tipper body did all the lifting for you . dave

Yep, they saved the driver a lot of mauling. We had those wind down ones with a wire rope, they all got taken off and binned.
Pete.

It was dead easey Dennis, I made a proper tool made out of mild steel bar shaped so as to hook onto the crossmember & fit under the wheel dish Easey Peazy for a proper Foden owner driver Regards Larry.
I remember from my days on tippers that people thought you always carried a shovel just for levelling the load…

The ideal tool for wheel changing, I never could get on with the ‘two bars’ method! I still use one when I have the wheels off of my van.

Thanks for the pics, it really is a great place to spend a day.
I have just saved the blue and white 6x2 roadtrain that you pictured.
Hopefully it will be on the road next summer.

Hi carryfast yeti, I remember Stu buying and stretching a roadtrain to a six wheeler. I don’t know who had it before but it was so worn out.Felt like we were just chasing all the worn out parts and must have cost a fortune. Cant remember it on the road though, can you? would have been about 1989/90. It was a low datum cab I think.
At the time I worked with Alan Cooper when he was at Ford & Slater and Al bought his own tipper later, good bloke Al.Colin
hi Colin…can’t remember Stu’s Roadtrain, but i do know Alan, aka kitkat he still running a tipper, and now parks it in the Handley familys old yard near me

that yard is/was Charles Handley’s yard, who was Stuart’s father.they still have an old ERF tucked away in the garage the one with the oval grill.IIRC Stuart’s yard was out Bruntingthorpe way.
