Have I got this correct or not didn’t Busby buy some F12 Volvo Globetrotters off Brian Yeardleys and didn’t they have new engines as Yeardley’s were testing some engine oil and the engines were removed for complete inspections by the oil company?

Possibly some of these maybe? Can’t make out any registrations though!!

Wish i had tried to get a job with Davies. I was an owner driver with a 7.5 tonner and i drove into Davies yard and turned round just to se the trucks in the yard. I should have taken the bull by the horns, got out and gone into the office…but i didnt. Sound like a great company!

 me too i used to for a ship repairers in northam in southampton and used to pass the yard a couple of times a day and always looked out the daf’s. i always said to myself as soon as i pass my test that is where im going. but i moved back to leeds and passed my test there instead.

Back in about 1987ish I bought a Globetrotter from Patricks of Kettering which Terry Sparrow drove for me mainly pulling Armstrong tanks I kept if for about 18 months and then sold it to John the reg was something like NNY — any body know what happened to it

I had an ex Patricks Globetrotter, HNH 350 Y

That was the one Kerbut did it get damaged in Italy?

I dont know if it had an accident before I bought it ( from a company called Don Commercials in the Sheffield area) when I bought it ,it was still in Patricks colours . There is a photo of it on Truckerash,s thread ,before I had it and after I had bought it and had it resprayed in my colours. The only one I had which was damaged was an F12 which used to be one of Armstrongs wagon and drags which was cut down to a tractor unit with lift axle by Princes which was rolled near Barcelona on its first trip in my ownership ( by my first employed driver on his first (and last ) trip for me )

kerbut

I don’t suppose you found a wallet in the cab of the Globetrotter, I only ask because the previous owner could never find his !!
Regards MaggieD
