Hi buzzer, well i thought i would never see the day but he has done well and earned a rest. I suppose they are fitting over his special truck now then.
I dont know if Roger get’s on here but if he doe’s good luck enjoy your retirement mate. Gerbil.
Kev as always at DIT things are done in a orderly manor, the boys decided it was the next longest serving to take the two tone blue machine, PD was first in line but insists he is retiring next year so it goes to Chip the next in line, he will keep her clean & lit for sure and just his luck as Hori has polished it up as Chip, Andrew & Hori are off to Truck Fest which we have not done for sometime, JD.
You’ll never see a steamer on the mainline these days Buzzer without a diesel on the back. Whilst it seems logical that it’s there in case of brakedown according to a cousin of mine who’s heavily into them up at Carnforth, it’s because a steamer can’t keep the brakes off or run the heating on a lot of more modern carriages, so there’s a diesel on the back looking after the brakes and auxiliaries.
New one on me this year, we were going to rotovate the ground but it is that hard I don’t think my machine would have made any impression on the ground so went with pots, not ideal I know but we will see how it works, two chances they either grow or die, Buzzer
Houston we have a problem, This is what was right across the gateway of the marsh today, had to back all the way out to turn round and call the troops with the chainsaws, hour and a half later we had a path in but did not need that hassle and its not ought to do with me it was on the railway bank, Buzzer
I was sat on the M25 this afternoon in heavy traffic in the rain and who should crawl past in the opposite direction, none other than Snapper and not too far behind Mr Punchard. Sorry Dan I was miles away looking at that bent gantry laid on the verge at our side.
Nice pair of Bulls Wrighty, not so good for me on Wednesday as the Council had a work group replacing fence posts and clearing debris off the fore shore, they spooked a steer who jumped a fence & got entangled in some fence wire with lacerations to his legs, 9 times out of 10 there ok but when I went to check numbers he was not with the rest so went looking, found him and got him back to the rest. Yesterday went to check again no sign of him again so did a good search and found him against a gate but he could not get up, he past black manure so rang the vet who reckoned it was internal bleed or blood poisoning which is what the knacker man agreed with and then we watched him die, it is a £1250 loss plus £150 to dispose of the carcass and I probably wont get any compensation from the council.
On another note Tommy pictured our Grandson doing work experience at Tracy Island this week, 3 days int office, one day washing trailers and Friday out and about with Andrew on locals, not sure if the latter is wise Buzzer
Harvest of rye in has started in the UK, ingenious trailers that tip in reverse and have a belt discharge system into artic trailers for onward movement,Buzzer

Next step driverless machines, world population increasing with less need for human input makes unthinkable the ultimate outcome.

Thanks Oily, yesterday got one more job out the way before it gets too wet to get on the ground, plus it gets it out the way of the hedge cutter when it arrives, Buzzer
