Got PM Jim and replied. Need more pics from the likes of cluey and others they must have something fresh.Ive seen no pics of the love boat when it ran out of Southampton and it was a favourite of a lot of truckers, we used it alot in fact i think we were there second biggest user, everybody loved shippin that way especially on a friday night when it was full of punters thats why it got the name of the luuvv boat.
Here is a picture of it from a previous thread I found. Yes Friday nights were always a bit colourful on there. Think they ran a promotion, something like four coupons from the ‘Sun’ plus a quid and off you went disco night. The service from Sealink on that route was superb for everyone associated with it. Lost count of the times they held the boat for Buzzer. Can remember most Fridays we used to have a Porto / Lisbon multi drop go out and always only just made the boat in time. The freight manager, Chris Lush (RIP) used to say - where is he then. The call was made, ‘I’m at the Hockley lights now JD’. Buzzer would then put the phone down, turn to Chris and say, he is coming down the avenue now shag!
Three valuable lessons to be learnt on that Friday night sailing. 1/Don’t go on it if Reader was booked on. 2/ Don’t go on it if Kwozzy was booked on. 3/ If Kwozzy and Reader both booked on it, pull out and drive up to Dover. Saturday morning Cherbourg to Avranches felt like Cherbourg to Bordeaux. TTFN ■■
Jimsky did you ever ship out Stena from Soton ? if you didn’t you dipped out big time. i remember every year the week before christmas Horry and Gooj would ship out on the friday night FOC in the pickup to get a pallet of beer surposed to be for the company party , anyway thats what we told customs and they always let us through. We used to bring in for Chris Lush RIP. and his two boys. We also used to take out chocolates for the girls in Cherbourg office , they were all fantastic and nearly always got the blokes on the ferry home even in the summer when megga busy, and they were all pretty good lookin as well, definitely a Mary Hopkin moment.
Funny what a box of choc’s can buy

Do you lot remember Marie Noel from the Stena Cherbourg office,she had stunning blue eyes,was a stunner with a nerd of a boyfriend,she is now running her own baby clothes shop in town,and has not aged at all,she had some realy nice work mates too,up for anything.
Oh and those two old Canadian marshalls,they met local ladies in the war,and stayed in France.
Well we had special visitors today at the yard and at the homestead, i cant believe he left the firm 11 years ago for pastures new. Heres a couple of pics to see if any of you special lovers remember him, the first pic with his wife the second with the Boss and the retired office manager.

Sorry Neil wrong guess you would not have met Geordy Billys wife cos its her first time in the UK, he called in completely by surprise, didn’t know he was over here from the states.He now works for a Canadian company doind longhaul work into the USA same comany that Clint works for. He’s just got his greencard but took him ten years.Rgds John.
Now you say it John it’s obviously Billy. The face was definitely familiar and the couple angle threw me. I’m glad to see he looks well.
Sling keeps me up to date with what Billy’s upto but never mentioned he’s over.
