Thanks for the PM tiz true wot you say Mappo wouldn’t know a hard weeks work if it head butted him after all he’s just a whipper snapper really when you and i started it was not tarmac miles we had to eat eh Fergie! it was not very good gravel surfaces chuck you out the seat it would if you went to quick still he’s still plying his trade and we have done our bit and can take it a bit easy now where as he’s a few more years to give. Just think if he’d spent less time takin pics and buyin dodgy clothing he could be takin it easy just like us poor old Mappo.

I may be a bit slower these days Buzzer, but i dont recall you complaining about my work rate back in the day.
I,ve said it before and i,ll say it again…best era in transport as we all know.
I was looking through old pics and found this one again of me having a trailer puncture repaired in Scicily, and i noticed
that if i had,nt stopped when i did i might have taken out that balcony. ( Would,nt have been the first time though ) :unamused: :unamused:

If i remember Tone you lent your tyre inflation gu to Jim Street and he kept it for two months cos he had a slow puncture never understood that as you could get a puncture fixed for abour 8 quid in those days in italy god he must have been tight Sorry Jim.no offence ment!

Hi Tone was that Catania ? Good job you hung around while they did that punture or else it might be up on blocks like the car in front with the wheels gone !!!

R Jim

Fancy you remembering that Buzzer…yes i did lend it to Jim while in Sardinia ( that 5 days to load trip if you recall )
but it was just a case of not bumping into him again for a few weeks.

Jimski…Nah it was,nt Catania Jim, just a small place i pulled into when the tyre went.
I was on route to Siracusa that trip. Wont tell you how long it took to get there. :unamused: :unamused:

Hi Tone I remember going down there with Jim Street and Kev( Gerbil) and there was another one can’t think who it was we had 4 piles of ships anchor cable on the deck the quickest tip ever tied rope round a post drive forward job done I’m sure that was Augustus tho , wasn’t you the fourth one was it ■■
R Jim

No Jim…i was,nt with you with those loads mate.

Mappo do you remember the week before christmas one year me and you went to Pompy to ship out and getting in the freight office we were both presented with a length of wire with a red light attached asking what it was for we got a blank anyway we wuz both goin to an oilrig sight in Taranto not the ideal job when we were only thinkin we had to make the cut off for the last ferry home. Any way when we collected our respective trailers it became obviouse what the red light was for as there was 10 foot of steele pipe stickin out the back of the trailer, Nice one Ron !we wuzzent even told . Now this may have been ok in the uk but France and Italy a different proposition any way if you remember we made it ok with dodging ministry checks and all and made it back for the last tub home but only just . Another Mary Hopkin moment Tone.

I do remember that trip Buzzer,we could have been well stitched up aye.
I seem to also recall that when we filled up in Italy you kept all of these. :unamused: :unamused:

Can i have mine back now please cos times are hard.
