I dont know when it happened but i think its on the m54, it looks like he had a run in with a milk truck with sliding side doors but i hope the guy survived, Its been recabbed now and back on the road. I think they’ve sold it now.
Heres a couple of they’re 143 when kermit got smoked out
I think these guys are accident prone.
Derek aka Kermit is fit and well. He still owns both trucks. The 3 series is being re cabbed, the 4 series was repaired in full. ■■■■ fine bloke.
And yes he got out and walked away
One of the “Beeson Groups” Transcontinentals, they were potatoe growers in Melton Constable, this was 1 of 4 that they bought in 1980 / 81 together with a few Volvo F10’s, to replace their old ERF A and B series units. The wagons were dark Blue but this looks Grey due to weathering, they also had one or two 4x4 ex Army, S - type Bedford rigids that they fitted with 5th wheels. Using them to shunt their trailers from the fields to the warehouse, I’ve never seen artics reverse as fast as these old Bedford’s.
The works beside Beeson’s place made “Electric Switchgear” and had a 15 ft x 6 ft black and white poster on the inside wall of their warehouse, of a “Mickey Mouse” S21 Foden flat 8 wheeler, being unloaded by hand of the cwt sacks of grain it was carrying.

Hi scaniamad, Here’s a pic I took of “kermit IV” which dates from Oswestry Truckshow in 2008:

Lets hope that never gets resurrected. FLs are just the worst to drive and the engine is to blame.

Well, despite your views on the FL6, the F6 was whole lot dozier, especially if you tried to get even vaguely near its 28 tonne plated gross - so how about this one:
Written off after an accident in September 1988 (sadly fatal for the car driver who went under the front), spotted at a dealer in Doncaster in January 1989 and now, amazingly:
The vehicle details for CFV 139Y are:
Date of Liability 01 12 2009
Date of First Registration 01 03 1983
Year of Manufacture 1983
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 5600CC
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type Heavy Oil
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Licence Due to Expire
Vehicle Colour BLUE
I remember going to the licencing office in Preston to register this one in 1983!
Oh, and the ERF recovery vehicle, having picked up the Volvo in Kent, expired itself and had to be recovered for a new clutch - Luton I think it was. It was a long day for the recovery driver, culminating in a train journey home to Lancashire!
