My cruise control occasionally switches itself off, and not when going downhill. I’ve swept out around the brake pedal in case a small stone has wedged itself underneath, and I’ve pulled the mat away from the pedal, to no avail. I’ve cleaned around the column control etc but it still switches itself off. There are no error messages coming up and the throttle limiter setting works absolutely fine, as does the exhaust brake control. Any ideas?

My CF85 has a strange aircon problem; Switch air con on (not recirculate) and barely anything comes out and takes ages to demist the windscreen. Switch to recirculate and it blasts out, but air con isn’t that cold (I know that’ll need re gassing). I’m not a huge fan of air conditioning I prefer the sunroof up but I would like to know what the problem is?blocked (pollen) filter!
Quick update, it was the pollen filter. I removed it (I think it was the original) blasted it with air line and brushed it hard and now it runs much better. Boss has ordered me a new filter too.
if you have a manual you ay have a issue with the clutch pedal /switch…As switch off conditions or the cruise will be the pedal ,as pressing either of those should disengage it…

I’ll mention it tomorrow, it comes off the road for mot prep on Wednesday (if the 6w passes), cheers.
Also if you have the retarder switch on the floor, this will also disengage the CC

Yes I’ve got the floor button, I did sweep that over but I might check it’s releasing properly.
if the button is stuck on the cruise wouldn’t engage
Can the pollen filter be washed out or does it have to be replaced? Aircon works for a bit but once the outside temperature rises above about 18 it doesn’t feel that “cold” is actually cold anymore.
Our 6w has just had a new compressor fitted after I’d finally convinced our fitter that there was a problem with the trucks’ air system.
Anyway, the old compressor was knackered (when stripped it was full of water and grease), and the new one fitted but air is leaking out from pipework near the compressor. Fitter said it will take time to clear the gunk out of the system, is this right? Surely it shouldn’t leak at all, I doubt DVSA inspectors would see this as a valid excuse for an air leak?
For the last two nights I’ve blown down the air tanks and there is no moisture or crap coming out, any suggestions apart from a lighted rag in the diesel tank? Sadly the old girl is my boss’ and his Dads’ pride and joy, despite the 8w being a much better, newer and more reliable truck.
