Wheel Nut:
Manchester to Dordrecht using North Sea Ferries judging by the sticker in the centre of the screen :stuck_out_tongue: I bet that was a tiring trip.

I just recently bought a DAF history book which has some good information in it, except for one part where the author is trying to be clever. He points out a Lithuanian 3300Ati trying to be something it is not.

Actually Mr Author, it was because there is one above, I had a C reg one and I also had a C reg 2800

The Ati was launched with the 3300 in 1985, the 3600 came a year or 18 months later.

They are still the best truck ever built in my eyes, forget the air leaks and the non adjustable steering wheel, they were great.

A 320hp DAF in 1984 was something to behold

did u used to run out of dfds @:preston brook with a daf 95 super space…■■?

i could be wrong here, but was there, (or still is) a firm called, “maguires of cheltenham” used to have really
tidy white and green trucks, if my memory serves me right, possibly tipper trailers■■?
did they have a “proper” space cab back in the day■■?

i agree with you saying the first space cabs are the best truck ever made.

cheers

MOC:

that is a SUPER looking lorry

MOC:

now theres a blast from the past,i used to run down to greece, bulgaria & turkey with me dad back in the late 80’s & run down with davie sisson in his 330ati, christ it took us forever to get to the bulgie border as he drunk for england then slept for three days to recover, god rest his soul, i got told he past away when working for curries,

Amazing how the Space cabs all have fancy paint jobs…and the standard cabbed DAF’s of the era had standard paint jobs…it must have been the bigger cab lended a bigger canvas?

MOC:

Was it worth the effort of doing away with the spare wheel and moving an air tank to add the piddly derv tank ?

I often wondered where this truck ended up when I sold it, must admit it still looks well on the photos it’s got to b nearly 38 years ago when I had it new.
