Hello
Just been truck spotting in Carlisle and got a Brand New Eric Nicholson lorry.
Details on it are:
PX61 RNY DAF XF 6x4 Tractor Unit

did that f12 used to belong to d maxwell before cassons?

Hello 1volvo1,
I’m not sure if it was owned by David Maxwell of Waverton. David Maxwell lives only down the road from me but I can’t remember that Volvo F12 in his fleet.
Heres a photo of his lorry that he owns now.

The November issue of Heritage Commercial has a great article by a ■■■■■■■■ ex-pat now living in New South Wales.
Bill (Shortie) Davidson chronicles his working life and also the demise of W/■■■■■■■■■ manufacturing base from the
sixties onwards. It is great read (IMO) and mirrors what has happened all over the North of England and Scotland
in the last fifty years. PS The “Andy Capp” Guy painting that accompanies the article is pretty good also.

Yes CG I did, but Shorties letter is from the perspective of a driver. It is not written by a journalist and as such
it is an observation from someone who was affected by all the changes first hand. It is a social document
that I wish I could emulate for this side of the Pennines. regards kevmac47.

Has anybody got any photos of John Walton,s motors or remember them? based between Westnewton and Spyat,(Watchill is it?) 4wheelers, Dodges, a few Fiat 7.5 t, an orange A series ERF, and later some Merc taut bodies with sleeper cabs, I done some hol relief for him in 80 on one of the Mercs, first night out I had not across the seats.

Hello Bewick,
I’m sorry, the photos I was going to show you are refusing to be shown on Trucknet.
Well, I 'll tell you what they where. It was a two page artical from Transport New (Feb 2011) which showed one of your Renault Magnums and had a small piece about Bewick Transport (later International) and it interviews you (you are Dennis Smith aren’t you??).
I thought you might not have seen it.
Sorry again

Typical CG! the whole of TNUK are standing by with “baited breath” ( I for one don’t believe that!) ready to look at some photos you’ve brought down off the Top 'O Skiddaw and what happens? they are copyrighted and you can’t put them on eh! Did you happen to see “fast eddie” on Skiddaw? I’ve heard thats where he is now. Oh! and I don’t know who the bloke is that you are suggesting is me! What a let down CG!! you want banning off the site Marra for trying to put things on that are attributed to someone else!!! It’s called Plagerism ( thieving to you marra!) Right lads settle down it was only another “bum steer” The Fletchertown Cowboy was trying to persuade us he could deliver!! Cheers Bewick.
