Your right there Dave! apparently the north ■■■■■■■■ dialect has more in common with Norse Viking.I once heard a tale about a Norwegian who was on holiday in West ■■■■■■■ and when he called into a pub in Ireby he was intreagued with the local “crack” it sounded very familiar to him and he could understand some of the words although he couldn’t speak English! Cheers Dennis.

Now then “H”,not having shaken your(well worn) hand or give you a hug!(ooh! er!) which I hope to do one day! I would guess that your twang( from what you indicate) is somewhere between “early Coronation Street interspersed with a bit of of Geordie” I may be wrong -----but who cares---- we are both 8 wheeler and trailer lads(well driver in your case!) so we have a common understanding of “all things knotted rope” although the driver I was a mate with never resorted to corpral punishment to get his point over( he explained it verbally!) and I fully understood what he meant! Anyway thats my understanding the great “unwashed” may have other ideas!Cheers Dennis

hiya,
Dennis have lived up this neck of the woods longer than i lived in the land of my birth, I can now understand the natives and find the people I am conversing with don’t have to say "eh"quite so much now as when I first touched down in the Durham area the problems do arise when I visit my brother in Bacup and I’m asked to talk “proper”.
thanks harry long retired.
You can always use sign language “H”!! and when all else fails ask if they know what the number “two” is in sign language!! cheers Dennis.(or radnorshire welsh!!)
If my mind serves me right the lad driving hinchy,s truck that rolled in hodge turbos pic went on and rolled another coming out of silloth, and he was on the sick and had his arm in plaster whilst driving…
