Well ain’t this a cheery thread.
One fatal, a baby… and I saw a cyclist get knocked clean through a hedge a couple of weeks ago. The one day I didn’t have my dash-cam on me cos I was in a different wagon.

what happened maoster??S/B M6 nr Middlewich, cruise set at 86k’s and I’m slowly catching a lorry up, black beemer passes me in lane two and I move out to overtake the lorry, I can see two more lorries in front of him with the front one being a foreign curtainsider. The beemer in the meantime even though it had a clear road ahead has backed off and positioned herself right under the foreign guys passenger mirror and is matching his speed.
I noticed Jonny catching a wobble box up quickly and we can all guess what happened next! As soon as I saw his indicator come on I wanted to shout NO!, but the inevitable happened. We all came to a standstill, she climbed out of her (now across the front of his truck) car apparently uninjured, a few more vehicles stopped on the h/s, my dashcam wasn’t plugged in so I figured I’d just be in the way so I carried on.
That’s got to be the most common cause of accident on our roads today, foreign or not.
It’s usually women bless 'em, I’m not sexist in any way but stay away from the dangerous truck FFS ladies.
Why?
If your changing lanes its down to you to check before you pull out.
Where can I buy one of these lorries with no blind spot that you’re obviously driving mate?

Unlucky enough to see a fatal happen was september 1992, came over Barr beacon by great barr down towards a main road, down a country lane there was a fiesta in front a girl driving, , couldn’t see the traffic approaching due to high hedges, the girl pulled out the crossroads to go down the road opposite.
Saw her pull out then an 8 wheel tipper appeared from the right caught the fiesta flat across the front drivers side first pushed her 50 yards down the road into a bus stop.
Needless to say the girl was dead before the bus stop.
Hadnt been driving long always remember it,

Last year, I was on my way home from work from Avonmouth to Bedminster. I was on the Portway where the road goes from 2 lanes into 1 on a sweeping right hand bend. At the start of the 1 lane on the bend, the front half of a car with two people sat in it was wrapped around a lamp post on the left of the road, the back half of the car was in the garden of a house on the left side of the road. I was on my motorbike and stopped to help, there were already a few car drivers that had stopped to help. The driver got out of the front half of the car but his legs were smashed up, people were helping him to the kerb. There was a woman in the passenger seat unconscious when suddenly the car caught fire, people rushed over to pull her from the burning wreckage, just in time so as she didn’t go up with the fire. I was in shock for about a week after. I rang the hospital to see if she was o.k but they couldn’t tell me anything. I hope she made it.

I’m not so sure. If it is, he must have had an uphill paper round.

Its said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery - up to the pair of you to decide who
s doing the flattering!
On a more miserable note, several years ago, a double fatal unfolded 100yds in front of me on the A11 or A47 (cant remember which now). I just remember seeing the air instantly fill with a spray of oil/coolant/suspension legs etc, just as though someone had pushed the plunger on a dynamite detonation, followed by the two cars pirouetting on their tails, ballet-like around each other, and shedding more parts as they did so, in what seemed like slo-mo, and landing on opposite sides of the carriageway some way from each other. One landed on it
s roof with the young guy still held in his seat by his belt. He croaked on the spot. The other car landed right side up and was twisted up something awful. Of the two women inside (both messed up), the one whod been driving was perched neatly on the back seat behind her own driving seat - never could fathom the forces at work that produced that result - while the other woman stared at me with panic stricken eyes and screamed at me to get her out. The car was too distorted to be able to extract her, so the poor thing had to sit there until the boys arrived with the "jaws". I talked to her and calmed her down as much as i could (her friend was obviously dead for reasons i won
t go into). I felt queasy for days afterwards when it kept involuntarily re-enacting in my mind, and never did get to know exactly how it came to happen.
