Hullo Jacko,
Just as by the by, was that Colin Cliff from Scunthorpe. When I remember Ian McKellar,s Motors, I can only recall three Drivers, Mario, Ronnie Evans and Big Arthur, and was it Nick from the Office used to do the odd run or two. p.s. Then there was Ronnie Evans, Brother in Law, a bloke with glasses I can’t remember his name.
Cheers, Archie

Hullo Jacko,
Ah! Yes Bournebridge, they came on the scene quite a few years later. I did a few trips for FFS also, they had only three of there own motors. Billy Moore had one Stuart ( bugger I forget his name ) had the second and Ronnie Evans had the third. Bob Burns that started Bournebridge was a big friend of Stuarts, then later on Stuart went to work fo him. I have heard that Big Arthur was running his own Pub, and Mario is probably the Godfather now. John Etherington I remember, the last time I saw him he was on for David Croombs, I was also a friend of his brother Peter Etherington when he worked for MAT in Hull. I,ve certainly heard of a couple of the others but can,t put a face to them or say that I knew them. But as you said at the start, “Those were the days”
Cheers, Archie.
I can remember stuart on for Bournebridge Archie & also a lad called Emmet!
Some other McKellar boys were Bobby Brown - Bernie - Johnny Valentine - Clive White -Alan(the Longun) & on & on will remember more no doubt!

Hullo jacko,
Yes Emmet, though I can,t remember who he was on for at the time, I knew two Bobby Browns, and yes The Longun. You will I should say know one of my Sons, Nick. He was always at Carisio, he was going with one of the girls from there, in fact they had a baby, but it all faded out. He worked for a few Italian Firms and is still living in Italy now. You may know one of my other lads too, Kevin.
Cheers, Archie.

Well could have been Harry Ames hence the nickname Hurry up Harry but it was Bob or more commonly known as Arkwright(open all hours) who still drives for Carr Brothers now & is known by all now as Beep Beep Bob!
Thought it would be fun to put a few faces to the names
Hurry up Harry with his good morning salut! Harry is sadly no longer with us but he was a star. Now he could tell a good story!
Another one no longer with us Mr Ronnie Evans aka Sauce Bottle Shoulders
Little Danny known as Damien( of the Omen film) also gone from us
Mr Alan Lane (numero uno) looking very happy. Must have just got the best reload!
I had 2 bleedin bottles of red down the side of the passenger seat before Dago invited himself in look!
Laney & Dago again-Peronne services, Dago had just moved to Youngs
Dave Baker- Welsh Paul & Roger Farmer ( Super). Remember running home once with super from Bologna-stopped at Auxerre services & when i pulled alongside his cab he was spoon feeding himself Nescafe granules straight out the jar. Superb for one hitting then!!! But that was Super for ya. Once told us all he painted the outside of his house & got paint on a window so just painted over it!
Brummie Don
Clive White. Knew Clive since his Leggett European days. Drivin an ex Gorden Tullett 142
Freddie Spanners i believe last name Thompson
Carisio one fine Wednesday afternoon. Bournebridge142 driven by Stuart who is under the cab trying to fix the problem. The problem was a Frenchman had cut his fuel pipes cos Stu left his air con on over night meaning the engine was running. Stuart was also very drunk so didn’t hear a thing! The French lad done a good job too not only cutting the pipes but removing large sections of them. The lad in front was a fellow known as Marmite the other boy i don’t know! We got her going by the way but as it was to late to get to Via Valtellina that day we stayed in carisio that night! oops
Yet another breakdown & only an hour after leaving the Pub on a sunday night! Colin Cliff with fuel trouble
Most of you scania boys must have tried to bend one of them spare injector pipes into the right shape then! I left Colin to do it & put the kettle on
Zust Ambrosetti Vicenza & Bobby Brown finishes off his tilt strip ready for the morning
Parked on the bay with one of Lianto’s fiats driven by a fellow known as " Look both ways Michael"
Peter Kempsters motor an ex Ronnie Hall 142. always had his daughters name on the front
Arkwright Bobs drawbar on his regular contract for Hungartner for if i remember Lego
Parked in Coslada waiting customs clearance
That’s all i have for now but may scan some more!

to be made and went back to muck away , photo taken in Milan on a wet
miserable day in 1993
My dad drove this truck for the poodles mate ginger Martin he was another tipper man too he had this another 112 and a 142 that my dad drove after. The poodles still about got a few tippers running out of Erith.
