Crack on to macon the return

Just a figure of speech ; instead of being based in UK & doing all routes NESW & back I was based in another country & had learn new routes & short cuts. Country of Origin used to crop up on TIR Carnets so I thought this being old time pro drivers page you would have got that. Sorry for the confusion . ( Er,mix-up /in-joke) And being a French trucker in the old days was VIP status. They had permits from Morocco to Moscow & all points South. There’s many things worse than being French .At least they dump all their terrorists etc. back where they all belong & don’t put up with all that uman rights crap. Not to mention the food. If I had died & come back a Frenchman I would have been in Heaven.
Today is mainly cognac…French !
PS. Anybody else feel like having a pop while I got a few minutes to spare…?
Don’t knock the French ,they have got life worked out & will stick together in a crisis.

Hiya Bobby!
It’s Chicken!
Just flicking through and saw my ugly mug! :astonished:
Brings back great memories of doing Italy with all the boys!
Remember Fat Boy (Terry, who had a gym on Canvey - I last saw him working as a transport manager in Tesco’s RDC at Thurrock)
Corner Shop? (Alan, now emigrated to the US where he has bought two mixer trucks and is doing OK)
Johnny Cameron…last heard of in Thailand!!
Stevie Mitchell, was doing fitting for Supreme Coaches?
Paul Wilshire, joined Unitruc from Kentvale. I still see him every now and then.
And of course not forgetting Ken Stiles who used to drive Unitruc rigids in the UK…until he won 5.6 million on the lottery!!! Funnily enough he doesn’t drive anymore!
Great nights at Lauras and the Frenchmans in Concorezzo with the Dago dancing on the tables with that hat he used to wear and Baccy Bill telling my missus that the way to sort out baldness was by rubbing seagull ■■■ into your hair!
Also Gary Glitter and his bubble perm and Billy Bull*hit telling everyone that he was getting a job as a personal HGV driver for the Sultan of Brunei!

Fond memories of Baccy Bills legendary chilli which he used to carry around for ages and heat it up every stop! Had a huge plate at Auxerre one time and had to stop at every services on the way to Milan!
Happy Days!

This is a truckers forum & everybody’s point of view is valid so don’t come the bully boy on here, you’re not in Congerezzo now you know ( Who wants to be in my gang:) Thats all finished . Just try to respect other peoples point of view .On this board all drivers are equal. And nobody has yet answered the question ‘What happened to Jock Hastie.?’ Some of the stuff you put on here is quite interesting but it don’t make it your private website /as in hijack. …I can feel them swarming already…They’re hopeless unless they are mob handed IMHO

PS. Italy was played out long before M/E was a Doh-Doh.
PPS.Ever wondered why Billy Moore always parked on his own in Italy…? He couldn’t stand the new-wave Brits screwing it all up.

yeah well until you have a post that we want to read you can leave us alone you told us Alfie Koski was Dead UNTRUE you asked about the shooting
in Prato then you knew it all NO ONE IS INTERESTED IN YOUR RAMBLINGS.

You’ve been coming here for about five minutes & you want to treat it as your private property :News Flash …Its a forum. Alf found it very funny. I couldn’t remember who told me. Its not the first time a drivers death has been exaggerated & it won’t be the last.

I cant be certain, but didnt Jock end up pulling Europa trailers out of erith.
and i think hes on timber now with flat trailers…

A nice photo of one of RTS Motors Agognate customs 1989

mentioned and for those who have never had the pleasure :unamused: :unamused:
PS is that the long un outside■■? i ask.

Colin Bulley (Reggie Kray) and my good self at the cabbage patch Bourdeaux
was either late 96 or early 97 (cant remember) during a week long drivers
strike we had just attended a meeting outside the entrance.

was we letting his tyres down?? i will let you lot be the judge of that :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

same strike is that the M25■■

Another one of Johnny Birchall (Woodentop) collisons 1996

This motor belonged to a guy called Joe Jebb he was mainly a tipper man
but he had a go at European work his nickname was (The Poodle) he was ok
to work for but it did not last long as he decided there was no real money
to be made and went back to muck away , photo taken in Milan on a wet
miserable day in 1993

Going back to the weekend in Pescara this is the whole family who ran the
bar those kids will be well in their teens now

The names dont ring a bell but i would probably know them if i saw them i remember the old boy with half his nose gone (Eddie i think) and didnt he have a black guy big mother. the strangest thing about that European job
was you could run with guys ,eat and drink with em and then someone would say Bob whats that guys name and the reply would be “aint got a clue” and then you would have to ask the guy his name   as it goes Rob i just
found out today that Stevie Ersser aint with E.F.S no more he was there when i left Christmas must find out where hes gone. :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

Hello Bob. That Bloke sitting in the blue & white Scania, would that be an
ex-Coolchain motor by any chance ?.

Hi Mark well going by your photo i would say it was ,i have not got a pic of
that truck front on so i dont know the reg number, we had i mixed fleet
in those days new and old we even had some Ivecos, but i think a safe bet would say its ex Coolchain.

just to add to the Ray Larcombe story, I bumped into Lee Hannington (another old boy from the Italian job, he had a 3300 space cab with a Merzario stepframe) last week in the circus tavern & Ray is doing a bit for him, mostly boxes out of Dartford at night, he aint ready for next years marathon but he’s still going strong.

Nice to see the Jock Hastie pics, last i knew of him he was on a royal holiday for a couple of years, one of his drivers had a load of rastafarian old holborn on & got a tug at Dover, he was running a lhd F12 globey & a 95 Daf at that time.
