Hi, i have to every other Saturady off to get my fortnightly 48 hour rest.
What i want to ask is, if for e.g i work a full day tomorrow (Saturday) after working all this week so making 6 days work, i will have to have next weekend off, but i have got to sit my cpc on the Sataurday that i am due off, will this not be classed as working so effectively i will not be getting my fortnightly 48 hour rest.

You only need 45 hours weekly rest unless you mean you are repaying 3 hours!
Driver CPC and ADR is counted as other work, or rather job related work, you could go to night school to learn to ballet dance but not how to fasten a load on the lorry
Yes 45, dont know why i said 48.
But i have got to have at least 45 hours rest once a fortnight, so me doing the DCPC on the following Saturday, i won`t be getting my 45 so effectively i could get prosecuted if i sit the course and VOSA find out.

If you don’t tell them we won’t either

However a private message from Roger tells me I am wrong about the ADR but correct about the driver CPC.
Let the thread continue!

Go on then I’ll bite
How is the “Driver CPC training” job related and part of the company’s commercial transport operation but “ADR training” not job related and part of the company’s commercial transport operation ?
By the way archies I think we’re all assuming that your company is sending you on the Driver CPC course in which case it is as Wheel Nut has said “other work”.

You could not go to night school to learn to ballet dance if whilst training to dance ballet you were in any way at the disposal of or working for your employer without it being classed as other work, on the other hand you could go to night school to learn how to secure a load as long as you are not in anyway at the disposal of or working for your employer.
Having said that I don’t know of any transport company that sends drivers to ballet dancing lessons, though the way road transport and society as a whole is changing who knows what the future holds

I haven’t a clue, but the PM message which (due to site rules) I am not quoting verbatim asked if I was sure about ADR because the Mind driver thinks ADR is somehow different from DCPC.
I don’t see there can be a difference as some parts of the ADR has been approved by JAUPT
However this is the problem with using the PM system on these forums, if you have something to say, say it loud, come on Guest, where are you?
