Cp plus parking ticket...:-(((

Deepinvet:
Thanks for all the replies guys… I guess the census of opinion is not to pay it…I wouldn’t mind if you actually got something for your money…

The most important thing is not to reply in any form and dont pay. They cannot inforce this payment and they hope by sending out official looking letters that people will pay up to them. They are a bunch of greedy robbing bar stewards who need locking up themselves. I have had a few from different companies including parking in a hospital car park that have all seemed to have dissapeared. The problem you might have is your boss might have a different approach

Aren’t DVLA breaching data protection laws selling information?

they’re allowed to reveal it for reasons of crime prevention and anti terrorism precautions for an ‘‘administration’’ fee :unamused:

So I take it Deepinvet was wearing white pyjamas, a scruffy long beard, a towel around his head and a hook for a hand

Yep they’ll have photographic evidence as well  of course Deepinvet will deny it but we know what truck drivers are really like, thieving cross dressing prossy murdering bunny squishing environment polluting terrorists :grimacing:

I just ignored the letter and then ignored the subsequent three and they never bothered any more.

DO NOT PAY, DO NOT ENTER INTO Correspondence, if your boss wants to pay that’s fine, but how many businesses pay unsolicited speculative invoices, because that’s all it is.

So, does anybody ever pay up front at these places for overnight parking?

Do any of you ever pay up front at these places when you want to park for more than 2 hours but not an overnight?

I’ve just done a weeks tramping and I paid up front each night at services and truckstops.

Could I have just not bothered?

Cheers,
LandyLad

i know where your coming from…it sounds like msa`s are free…

Thats your choice  its just that when you don’t pay their £20-£27 to park and just [zb] off, they demand something like £80 payable within 7 days, thereafter it rises to £120 + anything they can dream up as costs to try and scare. [zb]s :grimacing:

Hi Big Joe,

Yes, I get that, but what I am wondering is why does anybody ever pay if we can get away without paying by just totally ignoring all of the threatening letters.

People are saying just ignore them and they will eventually give up.

I think if you were collecting 4/5 '‘NIP’'s a week, you may attract some unwanted attention from the [zb]s

But that is exactly the problem, these are not NIP notices, they are a clever letter knocked up by someone on a PC and printer, not a knocked up woman police officer.

I argued mine and won, even got a voucher from them worth a fiver  But generally the advice is to ignore them, don’t get into any dialogue with the toerags in “uniform.”

For those who can see my facebook, there is a lovely example of a parking ticket. Sadly it would be banned from this site…

So that’s what to do with parking “tickets” what about clamps from private companies? Can we cut them off?

i was going to ask the same thing, if they cant enforce charges why do folk pay in the first place?
or is it the case that if you are a regular offender ie most nights, would they have a case to recover money for a un paid invoice?
I also thought that if you use any msa parking area you agree to the terms posted on signs round the parking area!
as a haulier if i work for any firm i expect to be paid on time when i send an invoice, if it was so easy to ignore invoices would firms ever get paid for work or services undertaken!!

simple answer is no because that would be criminal damage which if the company reported to police you could be arrested for,i know of people that have but i don’t know of anyone that has been charged with criminal damage :open_mouth:

If you don’t pay for parking, then you may end up with a yellow wheel ornament, that’s when things get a bit tricky, you can’t cut them off as it’s criminal damage, but you don’t have the law/dibble on your side either (civil/damage feasant) only way out usually is to pay, or if your lucky raise the clamped lift axle  . If you know your not going to get clamped then there’s absolutely bugger all they can do, except take you to court, but then there are lots of arguments you can throw at them (see pepipoo.com) and they know they will ultimately lose especially if a precedent is set, that’s why (as far as I know) they haven’t taken anyone to court yet.

These letters they send out are NOT: NIP Notice of Intended Prosecution)or PCN (Penalty Charge Notice), they may use similar names such as Parking Charge Notice, but they are nothing more than official looking speculative invoices.

basically if you work for someone you are both in agreement and normally before work is carried out one or the other has faxed an order ect, because when you go onto a car park you haven’t agreed to anything reguardless to the signs, to the best of my knowledge non of the carpark companies have ever won a court case over charges so they threaten but never act as they stand to loose more than they can win, and just hope the gullible pay up

You could cut through a link on the chain, and when plod turn up offer a brand new link in return and explain that you always intended to make reparations. Don’t know anyone that’s tried it though.

Send them a reply, thanking them for thier invoice.

Tell them you were not the driver at the time of the offence and that as the law stands you are not obligated to identify the driver to them.

Works for all “Parking tickets” not issued by Police or Councils

If you add a couple of links, would that count as interest?

Ignore it. these folk rely on the typical Brit attitude of doffing your hat and buckling down, you said it all when you said you had something to eat. You gave thenm some business, probably spent something in the shop too, whats the chance of you going there now after they show their lack of appreciation for giving them some of your hard earned cash. Time they were made to realise their system of one rule for everyone penalises customers as well as the chancers. At the end of the day their policy has no place in a court room so avoidance of any future consequencses would seem the way forward

If you don’t pay the “invoice” can you get credit blacklisted in some way?
