Know it well, used to be a major pétanque venue, sadly no longer. Sadly for those who still want to play there, not for me, I don’t. :unamused:

Still on old boy, I didn’t for one moment think you meant me.

from concrezza on to a round trip of italy across to stilton and then up the A1 somewhere, not a bad thread bob.

was one just across from the parking and another just a short walk down the road on the right side. i recall another when you passed the others across the village . but i think that was one you had to find . i think i went there once with a transnoli driver . a nice lady, newly widowed run it. but hey it was 20 years ago more or less so maybe i,m thinking of somewherelse. :unamused:

All i can say is, i’m glad Novaro isn’t famous for cheese, although I’m sure one of you can tell me otherwise!! It’s been about 15yrs since i last went there, not a regular port of call anyway, but something about that name stuck in my head, whatever one it was i can remember that it was only a short crawl back to the motor at kicking out time.

hi alan, yes you are right , across from the parking was pops, the one you refer to on the right was francos opposite the cin-cin bar, i think the “well endowed” woman you mention was laura, just down the road was the frenchmans, plenty of choice of eateries there.
someone on here mentioned via rogeredo, narrow road with (dented) armco rails down centre of road, trailers parked where they land, fighting to get into zust-ambrosseti customs in the morning, happy days. :unamused: :unamused:

via rogerado the less said about that ■■■■■■■ place the better bob if you remember the middle of the road caved in and it was chaos for about two
years and the eyties did not give a stuff and as you say getting in and out of zusties was a nightmare nice bar up the top of the road though.

Small reminder that hash does not placate the auto censor. D.

I just found a Melton Mowbray pork pie in my dinner box,

Hi Bob/Bob. I think i may have crossed decades on my post. i think Concorezzo would have been in the mid 80s for customs. after that i hardly ever went there. the red herring bit may have been with the Transnoli driver. been pulling top of me head off on that one, no hair left to pull. i think i used to go past Linate airport to a square with a resturant to one side run by a nice couple from the deep south as in Puglia. Maybe that was near Trasnoli,s yard and the other resturant was the other side of the village which would have been early 90s. And yes bob i did say well endowed and not newly widowed  .Via Rogerado . I went there as adriver in the 80s and Bob do you recall 1 night when i was there as an owner driver soon to be a fleet owner. :unamused: :smiling_imp:

TIR Original:
Yep, I reckon most of us has spent many days be they happy or unhappy at Concorezzo Customs. Although it was a longer spell before the days of T-forms when everything was on a TIR Carnet. You could easily spend 3 or 4 days to do clearance. Funny how a week-end always seemed to come into it !!
Plenty of choices of places to eat but I always found Pop’s the best. You may even get a game of football in the lorry park on a Sunday morning, even with a headache. Funny how it all seems so good when you look back and not so good

TIR says he reckons Pop’s was the best. The only trouble with Pop’s was when you got there and looked inside, if there were more than 3 people in the restaurant you knew you had to go elsewhere as it would take all night to get served. Personally i think you couldnt beat the Frenchmans because when you ate there you had to take in Laura’s before and after the meal. Oh happy days
Ol’ Gravel Guts
I spent many a w/end there. always in pops as it was about the best place to eat, if you weren’t in a hurry to eat.if you was in concorezzo then you weren’t in a hurry.

   :imp:

I only had the pleasure of Milan once, I was pushed onto Sweden and Denmark, I don’t think the others liked 24 hours on TORLINE ferries (36hrs. freighter with Haz)
We had a V10 M.A.N 19.330 nicked out of Concorezzo around 1977 with half a load of audio tapes and half a load of super glue on board, the unit (minus seats and radio) and trailer (empty) turned up, the police said if it had been a Volvo we would never have seen it again…but nobody in Italy wants an M.A.N.

When I went in '78 I remember a Planthaul lowloader waiting at the tunnel on his way to Milan, when I came back after tipping Milan and reloading pasta from Parma he was still there (out of money) apparently it was quite common!!
Happy days all the same.
