Good read and pictures, out of interest what are the truckstops like over with regards to standard of food, prices etc ?
The food in truckstops is typical American fair in both the US and Canada and while the US isn’t badly priced, the same thing in Canada is usually at least a third more, if not even more so. Apart from family, the thing I miss the most about England is the food. We may not be renown for having the best food in the world, but its our food.

Very cool diary, only for the girlfriend I would be off doing the same!any pictures of the inside of the cab?
Thank you very much. Here are some interior shots I took when I got the truck this summer…
I hope that gives a bit of an idea of the interior. its always hard taking photos inside truck cabs as you’re too near to what you’re trying to get shots of.

While North America is a huge vast place, I still think proper European driving is more interesting and varied. I used to do regular Swiss for about 3 years and some eastern Germany mixed in and loved it but got tired of only going to the same places and as the opertunities to go all over Europe from Britain are almost non-existant now I decided to find adventure elsewhere. If I could wave a magic wand and get a 50% market share of export work back for British trucks and wind the clock back to how things were in the 80s or 90s with regards trucks with character and the lack of regulation and red tape then I’d be back in a flash.

Brilliant read and cracking photos.Always fancied driving in the States, alas I lacked the bottle.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. If I’d of had a wife and kids etc I’d never of come here but I was single with nothing to lose but the plane fair so gave it a shot.
Great diary, look forward to reading more!
Great shots and tales from both of you and you know to stay where you are.My daughter lives and works in Texas and she does ask if we want her to come home
because we are deemed old,my answer is ‘don’t you dare, stay where you are there is sod all in the UK for you’.Enjoy gentlemen!
thanks for the photos, a bit more space than my scania
hope you put up another trip for us in the future.
drive safe

I totally agree with you on that, if I could go back to how it was in the 80s/90s doing Europe I would swap this Nth America lark for that in a heartbeat
I’d swap it for a donner kebab at the moment.

Haha I can relate! Only another 5 weeks and I’ll be returning to England for 3 weeks over christmas so not long now until proper food.
Good read Mr Robinhood, true coast to coast trucking…
I too think that although its great out here I preferred My days traipsing overland to Athens, more great characters per truckstop or turkpark than I’ll ever see over this side & always some fun to be had…
I may try a diary on flatdeck when I go somwhere interesting, I should have probably done it las trip as that was good scenery & a mixed bag, its just being arsed really isn’t it?

Excellent read mate and nice pictures, particularly the coast ones.
I think I should have done a diary on here instead of the blog, at least people read and comment on here.
Look forward to some more of you.
