it’s no bother if the locals don’t doff their caps because i’ll bet the bank manager does . the island is after all a tax haven and a rich man’s playground . if they keep learning the manx language they will be wanting independence next like the jocks .

I can see that I’ll have to save up the ferry fare to Heysham and doff my cap to the ex Mayor of Kendal, now the Mayor of Morecambe, don’t know how I’d get back to the IOM though, return fare too expensive.Maybe the Mayor would drop me at Glasson Dock so I could stowaway on “Silver River” to Ramsey.
Now then Dave,I’ll bet you live in t’posh part of Buxton,I heard t’money was good at Hazelcroft Garage…better than Sams at Chapel.

hiya,
Well Norm strolling down Threadneedle St is about as exiting as watching
paint dry there’s nowt there, maybe you felt at home being close to your
millions, as for Chris the engineer on the Silver River was a drinking chum
of mine when he was on terra firma namely Glasson Dock where I lived for
several months of the year when I owned my weekend retreat, well a sited
static caravan but this was about 15 years ago so maybe the lad I knew is
now retired, so Chris I can’t pull any strings to get you free passage back to
your drum, he did at the time say that if I ever wanted a trip oe’r the water
there was only need for me to turn up at sailing time, never took him up.
thanks harry, long retired.
i would have you know mr webb that there are no posh parts in buxton , it’s all posh !! just some parts are posher than others . i live in the less posh part because i don’t like to flaunt my wealth . it was good money on hazel croft , i earned as much in the early 90s as a lot of drivers are getting now . cheers , dave
Well it is not posh where I live and I have never had any trouble with my neighbors as they never stop long enough to cause any trouble as another 4 are selling up and moving on.
I am at a loss to understand why they come go so fast but it is something which I have noticed as happened every where we have lived for the last 47 years
cheers Johnnie

hiya,
You don’t sing in the bath do you Johnnie, that’s a sure fire shifter
especially if you live in a newish property “paper thin walls” but if
you’ve got a voice like Elvis that doesn’t work so my best advice is
to sit in the garden in the noddy, the cops whip you away, but the
neighbours that you want shut of are gone before you get released.

hiya,
And yes Dave I would “de-knackerate” him with the hedgecutter it’s
motorised and rusty, and to think I once shook his hand in Rochdale
many years ago when he was scroungeing votes he didn’t get mine I
lived out of his constituency, I was delivering to a factory he was at
coaxing votes out of the workers.

Old boy’s network Dave, one perv looks after another pervs back,I’m
hopeful they “capture” the lot they won’t have a good time in nick.
And that Saville guy should be dragged out of the ground still covered

help crew that one just for the job of giving him a push over the stern

hiya,
Not very politically minded Dave but a lot of laws and rules and regulations
do need looking at, a little while back a lady who ran a boarding house was
pulled over the coals for refusing to allow two gay men to occupy a room it
was her belief that their relationship was unnatural and said they could stay
but only in single accomodation, I for one consider it to be unnatural and I
would say no, obviously it appears the lady’s beliefs weren’t even considered
in my lifetime people have been taken to task for being gay, I personally feel
uncomfortable in their company and try to avoid them if possible, this coming
out thing seems to be the norm now, if what you want to do is abnormal keep
it to yourself, 99,9% of us normal people don’t wish to know.

Quite agree Harry. As far as I am concerned that lady was well within her rights to refuse them sharing a room.I wouldn’t want anyone like them sharing a room in my place.I don’t believe in a lot of this political correctness. It gives these people a licence to flaunt their unnatural practices to other people. They should get on with their lives and do what they want behind closed doors.
Cheers Dave.

Well said there “H” I agree with your every word mate ! The trouble is in this country now,is if you voice your opinion on immigration or Homosexuals you are called a racist or a homophobic ( hate Queers !).I still believe that we have free speech in the UK and we shouldn’t be afraid to voice our opinion.I believe that all immigration should be halted, the country is overcrowded without anymore coming in.And as for Gays, well I just find the practice absolutely revolting and it should never have been made legal in the first place and I feel very sorry for these fine B&B propietors that are taken to task by Homosexuals for standing by their beliefs.Just shows how far the country we grew up in has sunk into the sewer and I sure am glad I’m not a youngster growing up to-day.Cheers Dennis.
I will climb out of my death bed, and give my two pennyworth! Harry & dave I totally agree, hurrah for the judge who threw the case out against a house holder who went outside with a knife to a gang of drunken yobs attacking his property, nothing was done to the yobs, yet he was charged, their excuse was, him going outside with a knife could have inflamed the situation. If the yobs had not caused trouble in the first place, their would be no situation. I have travelled a lot to other countries, and obeyed their laws rules and customs, but why is it when they come to my homeland and they stop, we have to change laws and customs to suit them! And the powers to be wonder why the people are leaving this place.
Very true Norm.As you say Brits going abroad have to abide by the rules of the country where they are staying/working etc.
But if any of them are caught drinking in these Arab countries they are in big trouble. Then when their lot come here and play havoc, they get away with it.One law for us and no law for them.
Cheers Dave.
