hiya,
Not entirely Larry I eat digestive biscuits as well got to keep my strength up
you never know when the phone will ring demanding I get back into harness,
and if it’s anything more strenuous than single malt sampling I really don’t want
to know, anything else might just put my back out.

Harry, Dave & lads, why is it that I always bring the best out of everyone I was at the hotel and a group of ladies was sitting outside having a puff with the compare & comedian, they all had pink “T” shirts on , and 21st, a few of them was well built, I cool calm and collected ask one, why they had their weight on it, ie 21 stone, she looked at me, and said eeh lad it’s not our weight, we are celebrating a twenty first birthday, oh I replied how long ago! the comedian said I will have to use that in my act.

Howay “H” yer holidays are over !! Now here is a shot of the worst 81 we ever ran,the others were little or no trouble honest! but this one had a load of money spent on it,but I finally snapped and parked it up at the bottom of the depot and believe it or not it made us/saved us back all the Brass we’d spent on it,it yielded up a small fortune in new/nearnew and secondhand parts for the other 81’s on the fleet!!! It was just a bare chassis/cab when we’d finished canabalising it!!! Seeing as this is it’s last trip “H” how about relenting and getting in behind the wheel, surely a night out round Aldgate and Commercial Rd. should tempt you ? Cheers Dennis.

hiya,
No No No, not even if you get me ■■■■■■ first, I would be prepared
however to drive it away from the yard and do you and the regular
driver a big favour and torch it in the first unoccupied layby that’s
if you come and pick me up, I can’t walk very far these days, we in
time would be able to consume the insurance payout in the local pub,
come on Dennis you know it makes sense.

hiya,
Dennis, Dennis, Dennis, you’re dealing with a professional here
burnt out unit at least 30 yards forward of trailer, though might
be dropped a bit low, didn’t want to appear being too clever and
even got a thank you from the fire chief for being efficient and
saving the load, you know what they say Dennis up there for
thinking, down there for dancing, no flies on me Guv.

Dennis & Harry, you two are as bent as a corkscrew, no wonder you like talking to a decent driver like me, honest Norman they call me, even when my leyland buffalo caught fire, I tried to put it out with cups full of water, when a director told me they wanted to get rid of it, I went back in to the rest room to have a breakfast, told the fireman to take care, there was a camping gaz bottle inside, they asked where, and opened the passenger door and sprayed it, only wires caught fire and damaged the cab, a week later the engine was in another vehicle,I had a brand new Daf 2300, thats what you get for being honest.

Poxy Buffalo versus New DAF 2300,Sorry Norm but “H” and me have got to ask “how was the fire started in the Buffalo” what was the type of delayed incendary device you used ? Did you plant it after you heard there was a new DAF coming,or maybe the new motor was already in the depot and you had to come up with something quick, like !!Only difference between you and “H” and me is you are a lot shrewder and more subtle, well you’ve got to have been with all the Ballrooms you’ve frequented in your time up and down the road, and all the Glamorous ladies you must have partnered during that time. Then have a “butchers” at some of the birds that “H” had to choose from in the various dives him and me could only afford to visit, well I was only a lad at the time, under the very strict wing of an 8 wheeler and trailer driver!!! So I wasn’t allowed to participate so to speak !!! Cheers Dennis.

hiya,
Dennis had you been my trailer boy I would have allowed yea encouraged
you to participate in the pastime of being in the company of the Aldgate
and district “dollies” was there room to park a wag and drag at the local
STD clinic don’t want a parking ticket while you nip in for a check-up or an
injection, me being a clean living fellow wouldn’t need their services.

No no “H”,a jam jar with a drop of dettol in the water !!! Or in your case a “lot of dettol” in one of those Paul Massion Californian wine bottles !! I never took no harm !! Must have been a different class of “Dollie” than them you pulled “H”,but beggars can’t be choosers I suppose !!! Well who they going to choose ? A fit young 18 year old ■■■■■■■■ youth or a “world weary, worn out Lancastrian” ■■?
hiya,
Dennis you’re right about the worn out bit, and I carried a clean boiler suit
“for neets and saturdays” just in case i pulled a looker didn’t want to appear
a scruff, but as I’ve said in a previous post a lot of my nights out were spent
in the Hampstead area where one had to dress to use the local hostelries,
and most of my wag and drag driving was as a “red and ruster” we had a
depot along the main street, bed booked and safe parking Oh’ and I was a
divorced “single” so no restrictions.
