Class C+E Training.. 15-02-07 3RD RETEST AND I HAVE PASSED

21 minors 3 serious. :frowning:
I keep thinking about itā€¦
Thatā€™s a cluster f+ck up of a test in my eyes.
I canā€™t believe that the instructor said that it wasnā€™t that bad. Maybe he was trying to cheer me up??

Hi BIG sorry to hear you failed,Iwould have a few hour in the truck to get used 2 it b4 ur test ,take some kalms or somthing thats what i did and try work out ur weaknesses and try got better at them ,
Just take ur time on the test dont rush and keep looking all the time.
GOOD LUCK u will do it!

Dr Keys:
Hi Big, REALLY sorry to hear about your test result :frowning: If it were me, I think I would get the extra 4hrs training in, its surprising what a difference that can make, every time you get in you are familiarising yourself more and more, and things start to feel a lot more comfortable, Iā€™m sure a few more hours just driving will help you nail that re-test, more expense I know, but money well spent

Cheers

Steve

Cheers Steve,
I was thinking along the same lines as you but wanted some advice.

Hi, if it was me i would take 4hrs more training. I failed my class 1 the first time with 3 minors & 1 serious. The minors were all to do with gears. Once i went to move from 4th into 5th & for some reason didnt select 5th properly, stupid mistake but easily done. The other 2 were due to not using the splitter properly, Moved the switch & changed gear & for some reason ended up in no mans land & coasted for a short distance not in any gear. I still had 4 more hours training b4 test to get used to truck again.

Yes try a few Kalm tablets they work for me and try to stop going over the last test 21 minors etc it is old news

We all have bad days that was yours look forward and forget the last test

good luck keeping my fingers crossed for you

Hiya BigLebowski, iā€™ve pm you back + again after reading your postā€¦

Anyways It definatley worth paying for the extra hours if you can afford it, there is no substitute for time behind the wheelā€¦but you will be more relaxed on your next test.

As i said earlier you know what they are expecting of you nowā€¦youā€™ll see every signā€¦every potential hazzardā€¦every [zb] trying to cut you up before he does

what ever you decide to do mateā€¦GOOD LUCK

wills

Cheers Tyler, andy and wills.
Your right, Saturday and the test is now old news.
I will try some Kalm tablets to help with the nerves next time.
Iā€™ve just phoned the training company and had a chat to them about my test result and what the instructor said to me about having four more hours driving.
They are going to have a chat with the instructor and get back to me.

hey Big LEBOWSKI remember the story of
robert the bruce and the spider in the cave
thats right do not give up just get up and
try again, and when you have the result which
you will get you will be very happy with yourself mate
all the best next time mate,

Sorry to hear about your test lebowski, my nerves were shot on my first two tests aswell. I was ok until the examiner gets in then I go to pieces.Once the nerves kick in It starts affecting my judgement then I make silly mistakes.I tried kalms for a few days before my second retest which was yesterday and passed with 6 minors. I got lucky yesterday aswell my test was at 8.45 so I spent 30 minsof it sat in traffic. Good luck with the retest.

sean.

Hey Big
Well you know what they say - if you are going to fā€¦k up do a proper job of it.
I reckon nerves got the better of you out there mate.
All those minors started to add up and your subconcious picked up on this and things just got worse - am I right?
Dont worry. Just treat it as your first attempt and a prectice run out with the examiner and next time you will be well focused and not make the same mistakes.
Just give the man a good drive - pretend you are giving him a demonstration drive - and best of luck.
Never say never

Keep at it Big,ā€¦ take the 4 hours training to build your confidence back
up,ā€¦ and get the kalms down your neck, they worked for me

good luck mate

Big
You have PM.
And yes the Kalms DO work.

I had 4 more hours training yesterday and it went like a dream.
I only kerbed once and that was on a tight island. I went that way on my test today and got around no probs.
Mothertrucker, I did what you told me when approaching islands etc and it worked like a dream. Cheers for that.

:frowning:
11 minors and 2 serious:-
Judgement - Meeting
Ran over a kerb, well a 2 by 2 inch strip of concrete that is the kerb near the test centre on way back in.Stationary road maintenance truck on opposite lane, I slowed down (I could of slowed down a bit more) and went too far left to avoid door mirrors clashing and onto the strip.
I wasnā€™t nervous for 45 mins of the test and drove great but for the last 15 minutes of the test I felt a bit nervy for no apparent reason. Maybe the Kalms tablets were wearing off??
I had taken them for past 5 days and they work! I had two when I got up after breakfast and I had another 2 an hour before the test and I was a lot more calmer than the last time.
I pulled up at the test centre for my pre test at 11:30 and a minute later Ashley pulled up too. He was the lad I did my training with.
He was there for his 3rd retest.
At the end of the test the examiner who was a great guy, apologised and gave me the failed result and debrief. He told me not to beat myself up about it and to put in for a retest straight away.

Nerves again!!
Next time Iā€™m going on test with a cocky couldnā€™t give a ā– ā– ā– ā–  if I fail attitude and see how I get on. Iā€™d most probably pass!!
Just joking!
All in all.
Iā€™m deflated but not as deflated as the last time. I feel more comfy with the truck now unlike on my last test so that is a BIG plus.

Mothertrucker, I did what you told me when approaching islands etc and it worked like a dream.

Glad I was of some help - pity we had not discussed kerbs as well!!!
Dont beat yourself up too much - you will get there I am sure. If you need any more help just shout.
Get a retest ASAP and get that licence!!

Sorry to hear about your fail Big, but you WILL PASS. All you have to do is believe in yourself and you will nail that licence next time.

Iā€™ll agree about the Kalms too, I used them as soon as I started my training and although I was nervous for the test Iā€™m sure the nerves would have been a lot worse had it not been for them!

You mentioned in an earlier post about not applying the handbrake at a stop sign? I was told by my instructor you didnā€™t need to, providing you come to a complete stop. Only if you need to sit waiting for traffic for any length of time do you need to put the brake onā€¦I didnā€™t apply it on my test as I was able to move away almost immediately and the examiner didnā€™t knock me for it.

Anyway, good luck for next time. YOU WILL PASS
