I have posted about this several times, but my mate bought a Charles Alexander 3300 day cab and did two trips to Istanbul in it before welding a half cab on the back 
There are some pictures of it somewhere. I will ask him if he still has them.

H iall,I remember going up the A74 and having to stick to 40mph (pre-motorway) yet Alexanders were flying up and down.Having to do 40 on a dual carriageway.Nasty!!!
Alexanders were trying to keep up with Smith of Maddiston’s!!!
