Poor Pru Scales must be confused as hell , as she’s got dementia which must be quite far advance by now and that’s why she don’t work any more

Their canal boat TV series was great. He said the dementia was affecting her a bit then but they were enjoying their time.
Time seems to go so fast.

John Prescott.
No matter what your party, he was a major figure in UK politics, and a larger than life character.
Really good to hear Michael Heseltine, amongst others, speak about him on Today this morning.

Did not agree with a lot of his politics but he seemed a decent enough bloke.

He was self made, no silver spoon in his mouth, and he came up the ranks, starting as a mere steward/waiter on the Cunard line.
He told a tale about some foreign dignitary he was talking to who asked him if they had already met at any time, as he did not remember him, he said ‘Yeah we’ve met, I once served you a gin and tonic’'.

I also warmed to him when he thumped that Welsh gob shi…:joy:
‘You can take the lad out of the North, but you can’t take the North out of the lad’’ as they say.

From 2-48-00 approx if anyone is interested.

More character in his fist than the whole of Starmers body

Can’t argue with that.

And a nice turn of phrase too.
