Heres a car transporter of a different kind, Coming up th River Tyne at Union Quay North Shields.

That is a strange looking boat!

This message is for dinger junior like you i would sit in the passenger seat of dads lorry going the old way to harwich docks what a treck,
Your dad is fondly remembered by mine as he started with furness and parker, progressive, frank heyes et al, He finished at silcock,s at lawford heath as i think your dad did.
The best memory of the pair of them is me in a transit van coming out of coventry on me way to rugby, they passed me on the london road and they were in there nice new ERF Bs, I could do 60 ish and to cut a long story short i pulled into bobs cafe and the pair of them where sitting there with a tea in hand with grins way wide what a pair.
Ah yes dads name is jock laurie,

Hello johnnycov, CCD photos are quite rare, I may have another one somewhere, I worked with your Dad at a couple of places, the only other CCD driver I can remember was Don Hoyle, I to spent alot of time going down the old road to Harwich with my Dad who was on BRS Cartransport, I even now come back that way if I have plenty of time.
