Car Transporters

Good thread with some very good pictures, shame there aren’t any of the Guys carrying Reliants, I think they were MCDs lorries. I did have some I’d taken as I passed the factory in Tamworth but sadly when I lost my photo box, they went the same way all my other photos did. I can remember the trailers had a channel to take the central front wheel.

Have seen worse in my cartransporter day’s

A Fuego on a 7 car carrier, someone would have been proud of both of those motors.

Reliants were known as puddle jumpers for the same reason you needed an extra ramp :stuck_out_tongue:

Some beauties and memories in there. Keep them coming!!!

Here’s a few of my old steads and the Porsche one was my dads.

More of dad’s Rick “Fred” Gilbert.

Nice Pictures!

Out of curiosity though, why is the Ferrari logo on a Porsche trailer?

Well spotted. That Fiat was the first of the Porsche transporters, but was still owned and run by MarJef who also had Ferrari dealer deliveries. After this truck Porsche bought their own Merc 1628 transporters in 1982 and Rick/dad went over to Porsche proper.

At Ulceby today.

At Ulceby,Grimsby and Immingham.

Has anyone got any nice ones of a load of Rover 75s or MG ZTs?..sad I know but just humour me
